But what a ridiculous season, though. Congratulations to the Giants as winners of this year's Super Bowl Survivor, where they were the only team left standing after everyone else had the chance to prove why they didn't deserve to win the Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, the American love affair of keeping any team in the hunt until the last moment is preserved. Screw hard work and perseverance if you can cram for the final. :pado:

Web site dumps 8,000 Butterfinger candy bars in downtown Boston to mock Wes Welker

New York has its Super Bowl parade today, as you know. Meanwhile in Boston, 900 pounds of Butterfinger candy bars were dumped in the middle of Copley Square, and it appears that several people indeed layed a finger on them. Pawngo, an online pawn shop, deposited the candy in commemoration of Welker’s key dropped pass in the Super Bowl. This is just so wrong, somehow. Pawngo tells us:

Boston locals got a 900 pound sweet surprise courtesy of Pawngo in the center of Copley Square in the heart of Boston. 900 pounds, or 8,000 bars of Nestle Butterfingers were piled high with a sign entitled, “Thank you Wes Welker” — making everyone in the area stop to take pictures, grab a bar, and have a laugh.

Well, we’re pretty sure that not everyone was having a laugh.

Is Welker the new Bill Buckner? Anyway, at this point, Welker’s task is clear: he’s going to have to catch a baby.

welker deserves all the blame, who gets engaged on SB week??
a moronic thing to do indeed but apart from that moment he had a pretty decent game, so I doubt he was affected by the engagement thing ... had that been the case, I would have expected him to be piss poor altogether.

Brady's pass to WW wasn't a perfect one either albeit definitely catchable. And Brady/the OC also made that stupid play call for the safety, which proved decisive in the end as to what the giants needed on their last drive - because of the safety, 3 pts and killing the clock worked perfectly for them, otherwise they would have needed a TD and been more rushed, make more mistakes, and maybe not get the TD at all.

All in all, can't single out any one player for the loss, as was with Kyle Williams for the 49ers - the Pats lost to a more talented team ... made one costly mistake and failed to make it a 2-possession game when they had their chances ... on top of paying the price of Gronk being pretty useless.
Life happens ;)

maybe, maybe not ... I saw him make some uncharacteristic drops in previous games too - more notably vs the Ravens - with even better passes by Brady.

still, I agree that making life-changing decision before a big moment like the SB was pretty stupid of him.
