Rose Bowl: Penn State denied access

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Rose Bowl officials say Penn State violated two media access agreements at this year's game.

Bowl officials, who met in Pasadena this week, said in a statement that the first violation occurred when coach Joe Paterno failed to give a pre-game interview to ABC broadcasters.

The second violation was for failing to open the locker room to media after the game. Penn State doesn't open its locker room after games at Beaver Stadium.

Bowl officials said "appropriate responsive actions" were approved, but did not release details. A BCS official confirmed to ESPN's Joe Schad that there was a monetary fine.

Penn State officials deferred comment to bowl officials. A bowl spokeswoman said Thursday that all sides consider the issue closed.

The Nittany Lions lost the Rose Bowl to Southern California, 38-24.

The Associated Press contributed to this story.

recession my ass, some 21 yo dude will get paid over 60 mil for mere potential
Matt Stafford is not worth the money Detroit gave him. I've watched a lot of his games while he was at Georgia and, while he has the perfect build and a great arm, he lacks the intangibles to be a leader in the NFL. Couple that with him joining the worst franchise in the NFL and it's a bust waiting to happen.

This kid has been hyped by the ESPN jerk-offs since he came out of high school, he didn't do anything at Georgia to hurt himself, but he never won a championship and his play was never consistent.

Dear Lord, please guide the hand of Scott McCloughan tomorrow; we Niner fans simply cannot tolerate anymore draft day disappointments... So no more Druckenmiller's, or Smith's... draft Crabtree if he's available, or a quality O lineman, or make a TRADE for an established QB (no way in hell this happens tomorrow). Damn, I wish Arizona wasn't in our division, because Anquan would look might fine in the Red and Gold... even if there still wouldn't be anyone to throw him the damn ball...

Oh, and Lord, thank you for Patrick Willis...
