Dear Lord, please guide the hand of Scott McCloughan tomorrow; we Niner fans simply cannot tolerate anymore draft day disappointments... So no more Druckenmiller's, or Smith's... draft Crabtree if he's available, or a quality O lineman, or make a TRADE for an established QB (no way in hell this happens tomorrow). Damn, I wish Arizona wasn't in our division, because Anquan would look might fine in the Red and Gold... even if there still wouldn't be anyone to throw him the damn ball...

Oh, and Lord, thank you for Patrick Willis...

Another Niners fan, I see. Glad to see I'm not alone

Well, the Lions went and did it again.

Totally disregarding the best player in the draft (Aaron Curry), or the 2nd best player in the draft where there also happens to be a glaring need on the squad (Jason Smith), they go and throw 78 million dollars to a QB whom I am convinced is not any better than Sanchez at all, (especially in the leadership/intangibles department), and for a quarterback for whom next tight spiral I see from him on a post pattern will be the first

Watching many highlights of Stafford, he does seem to be a pretty good all rounder with the package. But what I'm worried about is the offensive line again, and another Joey H scenario.

But whatever. Not like it's going to make a difference anyway.

They plan to throw Dante Culpepper to the wolves and have him take the 60 sacks the Lions will allow this season. But with $41.7m in guaranteed money the fans will be clamoring for him the moment they go 0-2, which will be in week 2.

Culpepper hasn't been the portrait of health the last few years, so for him to even make it out of September without a destroyed knee would be shocking.

This is the highest rated receiver on basically everybody but Al Davis' draft board. Before his foot injury, there was talk of Crabtree going very early (except then he couldn't run the 40 yard dash at the combine, and some team's put a huge amount of stock in that drill). It fills a HUGE need for the Niners, who have an excellent young RB, but generally one of the worst Offenses in the league... we haven't had a true number 1 receiver since Terrell 'locker room cancer' Owens bolted on this team.

We still need a QB, and a little more strength on the O line, but this team is finally headed in the right direction.

Plus, I played football growing up, and I was a receiver. Jerry Rice is my favorite NFL player of all time... This was the player I wanted, and I figured that he would go to Oakland at #7 for sure (if he fell that far).

I never would have thought that Cushing would have been the first of USC's 3 1st round Linebackers to go.

That being said

FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If, and this is a big IF, Michael Oher falls to 20 for the Dee-troyt Lions, then this will have been a big day for them.

They will have someone to protect Stafford for the next decade.
