this sport is like rugby with a lot of padding. talk about a sissy sport.
Just a bunch of sissies running around in tights...
Carson might thrive in the right environment.
Unfortunately, that's unlikely to be Oakland.
Yeah, hard to say with the new coach, and no more Al. Carson is familiar with Hue Jackson, so it could definitely be a fit. Certainly some nice pieces in Oakland.
not so outlandish considering the percentage of 1st round pick qb who are successful in the league
Very true, my man. It's a pretty hard position to assess most of the time, and they definitely needed a longer term solution. Also considering the pedigree of the incoming player - when healthy, Carson is definitely a quality quarterback - I can understand the motivation for the move. Most important position in the league, obviously. Pricey, but it could pay off big.
Actually, I was looking back at their draft history since 2000 (focusing on the 1st rnd), and it's not quite as bad as I thought it would be (they used more of there picks... obviously there are a couple huge whiffs), although I suppose you'd have to see who they passed on as well to properly assess it.

Definitely still a great deal for Cincy; two 1rnd's (or a 1 and a 2) for a "retired" player is solid.
