Wow. Being reported that Oakland will trade a 1st (2012) and conditional 2nd that becomes another 1st if they win a playoff game this year (2013) - for Carson Palmer. Huge move. Good to see that just because Al Davis is gone, Oakland hasn't lost their identity? That team just doesn't value their 1st round picks the way they should, probably because they usually miss on them anyway.

Carson is pretty solid, Campbell was never the answer.. and I guess the Raiders are building a good team... but that's damn pricey. If it goes down, nice work by Cincinnati.

Carson might thrive in the right environment.

Unfortunately, that's unlikely to be Oakland. :p

this sport is like rugby with a lot of padding. talk about a sissy sport.:p
I doubt I would make it through one set of downs without needing hospitalization.

not so outlandish considering the percentage of 1st round pick qb who are successful in the league

Just a bunch of sissies running around in tights... :D

Yeah, hard to say with the new coach, and no more Al. Carson is familiar with Hue Jackson, so it could definitely be a fit. Certainly some nice pieces in Oakland.

Very true, my man. It's a pretty hard position to assess most of the time, and they definitely needed a longer term solution. Also considering the pedigree of the incoming player - when healthy, Carson is definitely a quality quarterback - I can understand the motivation for the move. Most important position in the league, obviously. Pricey, but it could pay off big.

Actually, I was looking back at their draft history since 2000 (focusing on the 1st rnd), and it's not quite as bad as I thought it would be (they used more of there picks... obviously there are a couple huge whiffs), although I suppose you'd have to see who they passed on as well to properly assess it.

Definitely still a great deal for Cincy; two 1rnd's (or a 1 and a 2) for a "retired" player is solid.

Al was getting more and more senile towards the end. He thought he signed The Wolverine as the Raidahs new head coach.

Ha! Can't blame him for wanting to add a little Canadian content to his team :p

Yeah, Al had definitely lost touch awhile ago. I'm sure it's a little bittersweet for Raiders fans right now... they certainly did need a change though.

It looks like (quality) football's officially back in the Bay Area.

Paul Brown looks like a genius for making this move.

Absolute genius, and once again, Oakland couldn't care less about 1st round picks, or draft picks for that matter. They don't pick in this year's draft until the 5th round as it stands right now.

Whatever.

Carson palmer is a pussy for pulling that bitch move to begin with. Break a leg, kid. seriously. I hope someone breaks your legs. Coincidence that Cincy is actually winning now that you and your two butt buddies are no longer on the team? I think not.

You pussy.

That was a pretty bitch move by Carson, you're right about that Sergio. Seriously though, this is one of those moves that just kills the fans at first, but absolutely ends up working out for the best. That Dalton/Green connection is looking pretty solid!

Man I love it when you get fired up, buddy.

I also love that T.O. held a public workout today, and not a single NFL team showed up! Guy is still jacked... but FUCK TERRELL! CANCER!

Braylon might be back this week... I can't wait to see our attack stretch opposing defenses vertically a little more. Looking forward to the Browns game. I still can't believe the 9 are 5-1 and still play the Cards twice, the Rams twice, and the Seahawks again. Harbaugh, you beauty.

I never knew you had such disdain for your Trojan
just this past offseason, dru.

He has a contract, and he should have lived up to it.

He wanted more weapons laast year, and they got him more weapons. He wanted T.O. on the team last year, and they got him.

Trounced Cleveland. The Tate and Foster show. Andre can chill until the bye week. Big difference a little defense and a chop block can make.

Dru, who would've thought that Giants-49ers in week 8 would be such a huge matchup

I am really afraid that the Niners are going to just run all over our defense. Gore is going to have a near career day in some regard while Brandon "The most useless fuck at a skill position in the NFL" Jacobs will have 10-15 attempts for barely 25 yds.
