Well who'd have thunk it. Frank Gore, 0 yards rushing and San Fran win... on the arm - and legs - of Alex Smith.

This is a genuine Twilight Zone scenario right here... :p

Seriously though, how about that defense. Bent but didn't break... some huge red zone stops today. Props to David Akers as well - best kicker in the league right now!
WTF

I would have never predicted that the Niners would have won with Gore registering 0 yds.

The only thing I can say is that Eli is really priming for greatness. Drops from your wr's and a lack of a running game is really pushing him to a new echelon or quarter backing.

Oh and for the record as stated before: Brandon Jacobs is THE WORST RB in the history of the NFL. Mr. Reese, you gave us the worst offseason in Giants history and still you refuse to draft a good RB. Please explain why and also make sure that gets done this off season. Thanks

i was kinda half rooting for the lions throughout the season, but their dirty antics are making ti really hard, i undertand them trying to shake off the losers label but i think they re going too far, and if they stop winning it will just blow up in their face
They kind of had that lovable losers thing going for me, young team growing up and I like the weapons on offense (I used to be a receiver); I've got lots of respect for the skill set of guys like Megatron and Pettigrew (Stafford too). After the handshake thing, and a bunch of these dirty antics, it's definitely harder to root for them. I don't hate them, but like you kind of said, they've been a pretty easy team to pull for as a neutral.

Dru, I love your Jacobs polemics. The guy looks like he's in slow motion out there! Watching him try and go sideline against the likes of Bowman and Willis is a lot of fun for a 9ers fan.

Eli really was pretty good on the day; that late drop was a sure TD and probably prevented this game from going to OT. I thought your O-line did a nice job handling the pass rush... didn't help much with the running game...

Although in fairness, for me San Fran's run defense is second to none. Saw a stat yesterday confirming a big fat zero rushing touchdowns allowed through 9 games. That ain't half bad.

I started rooting for the Lions as the season began. That ran out pretty much as their win streak did. More coincidence? Maybe if they focused less on being buttholes and instead of playing good football, they might start winning again.

I don't get the 49ers. Gore was hurt and played like he did the first few matches of the season. Great play-calling by Harbaugh, IMO, and he took the right risks at the right times. The red zone defense is really what got them the W, however.

I don't like American football but I saw this the other day and that run is very, very impressive. The photoshoped troll face and Leonidas face makes it even better

It was in the NCAA recently I think.

I really thought that Alex Smith was going to get sent out on a stretcher yesterday.

That was the worst offensive line play I've seen in a very long time.
