It's official.
I now believe in the San Francisco 49ers.
Jim harbaugh, I love you.
Feels pretty strange, doesn't it.
I was on my feet for a pretty stupid amount of the second half - pretty wound up. The 9 have the 2nd best defensive ppg in the league, and they're 3-0 on the road - if they continue to improve, this team could actually make a little noise in the playoffs. Right now, Jim Harbaugh is looking like a genuine savior; he's a good interview, too - measured, intelligent, grounded in reality.
What a huge performance. I still can't believe they won, despite the 15 penalties - just a superb performance by the defense. Aldon Smith is a beast - he's going to be an elite pass rusher very soon. 5 sacks already, despite very limited PT in the first 3 games... and that safety today was massive. I think one can make an argument that the 9 have the best starting linebackers in the league. Bowman is a terror, Brooks has been very good.
Frank was awesome once again. He's now 5th in the league in rushing - 5.0 YPC, playing really, really well. It's such a nice bonus to have KH there for the change of pace; it's a huge adjustment for the defense, and he really lightens the load; Gore looks much fresher, much more effective at around 15-18 carries.
The O-line has also been playing better... It would be great if Anthony Davis could get his shit together, and stop getting penalized 3+ times a game, or whatever. So many false starts. Still - big improvements with Snyder in there, and Goodwin has really picked it up. Right guard and center were caving in on damn near every play in the first few games - it's been much better.
Also a rumor that the 9 are thinking about bringing Brandon Lloyd back into the fold. With Crab playing better, Braylon coming back, Davis, Walker... there would be some serious receiving talent on this team.

Too bad Alex isn't great at stretching the field, but he's been pretty darn efficient and it would be damn hard to defend so many solid options (Alex wasn't great today, but damn was he clutch - his composure and game management have really impressed me, Sergio - it has to be said).
Edit: Looks like Lloyd has been dealt to the Rams this morning. Big target for Bradford, and back in McDaniels system. Makes a lot of sense, should be a pretty good match.
