Exactly, Sergio. Campbell's tender is necessary to preserve the asset, he definitely wants out of Washington, and I'm sure they'll move him if they get any reasonable offer. Guy doesn't have a ton of value right now, obviously.

Holy fuck... 5 years, 50 million for Marshall, total (tender and new contract included). That's a whole lot of cheddar right there... and of course the 2 second rounders. Miami paid out the fucking ass... there's no doubt Marshall is a superstar, but damn. Glad the 49ers didn't do something like this (not that they were ever in the market). Of course, I suppose this means no Dez to the 49ers at 17.

Which obviously wouldn't be a great 'need' pick for our boys, definitely other areas need strengthening first... but I'm an ex receiver. Hence the hard on for ultra skill guys like Crabtree and Bryant.
I wasn't looking at Dez Bryant anyway for them at either 13 or 17

I would be thrilled if Trent Williams slipped to 13, but I'm not so sure. Apparently, Joe Haden might actually be there at 13 now, since Earl Thomas has shot up the draft boards and might be going to Cleveland at #7.

If Anthony Davis (who I'm not crazy about) is there at 17, then Maybe, just Maybe, they take him, or if there is a team that is willing to trade up if Clausen slips, or if a team is hot for Brandon Graham, then they could trade down and maybe get an extra 2nd.

I really just don't know right now.

Trent Williams is probably the best pure RT in the draft, but who knows, maybe they do trade down into the mid 20's and hope that Charles Brown is there.

There are just so many options when you have picks 13 and 17 in this draft, the deepest one in years.

I have a prediction, and you can quote me on this if it comes true.

If Jhavid Best, the Running Back from Cal is there when the Lions pick in the 2nd round, they are going to snap him up right quick.

Jahvid Best? I'd take him. The kid is sick.
They have no running game whatsoever. If an OT is not going to be taken at #2, and quite honestly, if Ndmakah Suh is there at #2, you absolutely have to take him. He is the best DT propspect I've seen in over 10 years, and would instantly solidify the D-Line.

Anyway, without drifting too far off course, a great running back is the next best thing to having a franchise LT as far as protecting your quarterback from constant beatings.

Both the O-Line and D-Line are top priority for me this year. No question about it. An RB can wait until next year.

I want to get Stafford throwing the ball with good protection as soon as possible because of his young age, letting the pieces fall as they may. He's got a couple solid receivers to work with now so I'm not particularly concerned with the running game at this point. One step at a time.

I guess it all boils down to who falls for them in the 2nd round.

Now, they might pull off a shocker and draft Okung with the 2nd pick and see if that kid Price from UCLA is still there in the 2nd round.

I think that after Charles Brown, the quality of OT starts to drop off precipitously. You have Vladimir Ducasse from UMASS, but I think he will strictly be a Right Tackle.

And if it is between him and Jhavid Best, you have to go for the best player available at that spot. That player would be Jhavid Best.

But, if they had bothered to listen to me last year and toook Michael Oher instead of that TE from Ok. State, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

God, I love Sergio.

In fact, whenever you log in to the forums, the theme song to your Ballz-Out jeans fills my head:

"Uh oh, Sergio!!!"

I think that's a pretty damn solid move by the 49ers. Not a huge Ginn fan (not a great WR by any means), but he certainly fills a need. Good to see another hole plugged.

Edit:

He's obviously worth the 5th round pick for his return game alone, but the prospect of adding a burner to a loaded 49er spread offense is very intriguing. He doesn't have great hands, but there will be times when he's gonna open up a lot of space for Crabtree, Morgan and Davis.

Former 9th overall pick, and now traded for a 5th round pick... that's just ugly. I still can't believe that the Jets got Holmes for a 5th. Fucking Jets.
