They are different sorts of players. Gilardino is a Trezeguet type player.

And I bet you Gila wouldn't do any better here because of the lack of service.
We all agree that there is a lack of service, no doubt. But is that really his only problem?

Why is it that players like DP & Trez find themselves in scoring positions quite often, while Amauri rarely manages that?

Something to think about really.

He has enough time to prove himself until the end of season. if he continue like this we will have no choice but selling him, while we still can.

looked like a complete striker at the beginning. strong in air, technically gifted, can create his own chances.. but he delivers nothing since january.

Not really sure what good its going to do us if he's in a scoring position but we can't get him the ball. I mean he's in the box, doing what he's supposed to. Sure, he doesn't have the positioning sense Trez does, but very few do.

Mind you, he did score yesterday, but was offsides.

The problem I see with Amauri is that his touches have gone bad since the turn of the new year.

another thing to think about is why is his page the first to be visited by all sorts of midgets, orcs, buffoons and other circus freaks as soon as we lose
Especially when the likes of Moli, Canna and Sissoko all had worse games, as far as I'm concerned.

Del Piero looked pathetic yesterday, too. But you see no comments directed to him.

But perhaps folks would rather play Immobile, our next savior who is better than Amauri.

What I'm trying to say is that it goes both ways. What's the point in getting the ball to him if he doesn't find himself in a scoring position anyway <=> Why would he get in a scoring position if he doesn't get service.

Yesterday he got in a good position once but was offside. While DP (who by no means was great) was on the pitch for about 1/3 of the time, yet he did find himself in a scoring position, but missed anyway.
Another example was the Udinese game. Grosso scored because he was positioned exactly where you would expect a striker to be.
There are enough examples if you ask me.

That being said, I do believe Amauri can still turn things around but it looks like he desperately needs a rest. Which he's not going to get any time soon.

So you don't say I only bash him when we lose, what do you think of his performance tonight?

Not a single contribution. Someone should explain to him that a striker needs to move to get the ball. Diego and DP are not fucking Computers who can calculate the X-Y coordinates and pass the ball exactly to his head (not mentioning his great ability of controlling the ball with his feet!)

Really happy to see Trezeguet back.
