Real Up Amauri Interest

Amauri's dream transfer to Roma now looks unlikely to become reality, but the top-rated Brazilian striker will certainly not be lacking for options if he opts to make this his last season with Palermo as is widely expected.

Earlier today it was reported that the Giallorossi have pulled out of the race to sign the 27-year-old due to the huge fee that Palermo have slapped on him, but at the same time the Spanish press are suggesting that Real Madrid have emerged as serious contenders for his coveted signature.

Amauri's agent refused to comment specifically about the reports of Real's interest, but did make yet another statement on the matter in general.

"He feels really good in Palermo and until June he won't move," said Mariano Grimaldi.

"There is a big interest in him. His value is €26million (£19.4million) and Roma are out of the race."

The Spanish capital club can expect to be thrown into a bidding war against AC Milan and Inter when the former Chievo standout is officially placed on the market, while there are also rumours of Barcelona entering the hunt as well.

Amauri is currently in the process of obtaining an Italian passport and there has been speculation that if he receives this before the end of the season he will be called up to play for the Azzurri in Euro 2008.

€26million (£19.4million)

Thats a lot of money ...

Then he is definitely not coming to Juve, if it takes that much to get him here

I think Juve should do as someone else said before (don't know who did though..)
Buy Huntelaar!
Keep Trez, Del Piero, Iaquinta and Palladino!
and start adapting him to the Juve style of play like they did to Trez when Inzaghi and Del Piero were starters and we also had super-sub Kovacevic..

That would be the wise thing to do IMO

i have a feeling Amauri will flop at Juve..
Marcelo Salas deja-vu comes to my head!

Amauri is not a smart investment for the future; that's my only concern about him. I'm not so sure about him being a flop if he comes. I agree with everything else more or less though, except I would sell Palladino.

IMO Palladino is a decent back up..
I won't sell Palla because if he's in the team, there's no need to spend on another player.. that's the only reason ;)
Having said that, i'm kinda disappointed with him so far this season..

as for Amauri, he's tooo injury prone and I feel that if we sign him, he'll get himself injured at the start of the season and we'll never seem him again much like Salas..

but then again, that could be my "Hunter fan" side speaking :p

If Palladino is willing to take a Oliveira/Zalayeta place in the squad then sure why not.

I'm in the Hunter Fan side too :D

Secco's deeds are driving Juventini mad and making us start killing ourselves in the process..

I guess this is part 1 of the greater plan to Destroy Juventus once and for all.

The beginning of the end!!

Just arrived at Atahotel Quark of Milano, Alessio Secco, sports director of Juventus, has made some declaration to Tuttomercatoweb.

Director there is the possibility of an Amauri landing in white? "No, not now."

There confirmation in any case of the interest of Palermo's striker? "Yes, but not for January, we speak of June. Today I am here only for trade the minors.
To what negotiations refers to? "For example, one of our young, Maniero could go on loan to Ravenna, we will see if we set this negotiation."

of course Del Piero and Iaquinta suck and our midfield and defense are rock solid.

mah get the f*ck outta here SECCO!!!

paying 20m€ + for a 28 year old that does pretty much the same thing Iaquinta brings us is idiotic if not retarded.

We need creativity in the mid, a world class CB, a LB and a Trez sub for the future.

Hehehe, maybe SUCKO is in agreement with Palermo, that he is pushing the price tag on Amauri way up (Real, Chelsea)...so we can get Barzagli/Zaccardo at a good price...

leave amauri where he is... i think he's overrated. I don't think he can be anywhere superior to iaquinta in any aspect

We can replace him with some one who is more solid, sober-minded, smart, quick, skilful, more experienced... and the list keeps on going and going...

As for the coach position, i like:

Pasquale Marino
Silvio Baldini
Cesare Prandelli

I for one would pose my candidature as Juve GM. :D

Corvino is the man or Bettega. Even Leonardi of Udinese. Hell, even Pierpaolo Marino of Napoli. He got Hamsik and Lavezzi for cheap. Corvino, Marino and Leonardi can find good talent. With $$$ at their disposal they can only get better.

Secco should get his experience elsewhere. Start with a smaller club and move up.
