I think Mancini could be a very important player for us.

I have mentioned this many times before in this forum and in the XT forums, we may not just have to look at replacing Nedved, but Camoranesi has been a worry this season as well.

Nedved will retire, or should retire for that matter. But Camoranesi is still a key player for the team and when he doesnt play, it is clearly seen in the way we move forward. However, he is in his 30's now and it seems this season that he has become more injury prone. I believe he can still offer us a lot over the next 2 seasons but it must be said that if these injuries continue, then we need to look at both wings.

Back up isn't that great either...Marchionni should be sold as he is constantly injured while Salihamidzic is just filling up spots in the squad.

A player like Mancini would be great for a wing as he is fast, can dribble and take on defenders and create and score goals. This is something Nedved doesn't do anymore. Also, Mancini can play both sides if need be.
He maybe didn`t create or score at the last game but what are you talking about he does it all the time!
Nedved might be 35 or 36 but he is still the best midfielder we have

Roma will not let him come here.

The good thing about him though is he plays well on either side.. so Camo can take the right and he could take the left but when camo is out he owuld be a great replacement.

But there are better wingers around ... Quaresma, VDV ...

Mancini would be a good pick up if we somehow could pull it off though.

Roma could not really stop us from getting him. Just like they could not stop Chivu from leaving. They have a salary cap and this is one of the main reason they can't hold on to their more bigger stars. we can afford to give Mancini more than he is earning. Roma can't. offered a decent sum Roma would not reject it.

The problem is that Secco is not good enough pressure Roma/Mancini into negotiating with us.

Mancini would be a great addition. Considering that our board can't sign a five year old, if they managed to sign Mancini then he would be a great addition.

Juventus are eyeing up a double summer swoop for Roma duo Alberto Aquilani and Amantino Mancini, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.

Aquilani’s future at Roma has come into some doubt in recent months as negotiations over a new contract wrangle on.

The 23-year-old was also recently quoted as welcoming interest from Inter boss Roberto Mancini, sparking speculation that he could be set for a move away from the Eternal City.

Juventus have identified a top-class centre midfielder as their number one transfer priority for the summer, and the Gazzetta dello Sport says that Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri is pushing for Aquilani, ahead of other possible targets such as Diego and Rafael van der Vaart.

With Aquilani, who could be available for €30m, Ranieri would be able to retain his favoured 4-4-2 formation, but the signing of Diego or van der Vaart would force him change to a 4-2-3-1.

Juve are also eyeing up Aquilani’s Roma team-mate Amantino Mancini. The winger’s contract at the club runs out in 2009, and he is almost certain to leave in the summer unless he signs a new contract in the next couple of months.

An added bonus is that Mancini would be able to leave for as little as €5m, if he chooses to execute a new FIFA transfer clause.

They forgot to translate everything from Gazzetta. They didn't translate Mancini's statement that he will not use the FIFA transfer clause and that if he leaves Roma he'll do it only if his new club negotiates the deal with Roma and pays the ammount Roma is asking for (between 18-20m EUR)

Juve Set For Mancini – Iaquinta Swap Deal?

Juventus and Roma could be set for an intriguing swap deal of Vincenzo Iaquinta for Amantino Mancini, according to Tuttosport.

Iaquinta only signed for Juve from Udinese last summer, and despite largely impressing, he has grown frustrated at having to play second-fiddle to the prolific David Trezeguet and Alessandro Del Piero.

Mancini on the other hand has been at Roma since 2003, but his contract expires next year, and so far there have been serious problems in coming to an agreement over the salary on a new deal.

Juventus are looking to add some flair to their squad in the summer, and have presented an offer to Roma for Mancini.

Given the player’s contract situation, Giallorossi boss Luciano Spalletti is prepared to let Mancini go, providing his former pupil Iaquinta is included as part of the deal.

Iaquinta and Spalletti have huge mutual respect for one another following their time together at Udinese.

Roma’s primary transfer target for the summer is already a physical centre forward, while Iaquinta would jump at the move as it would enable him first team football.

Spalletti also believes he has the ready-made replacement for Mancini in the form of the ever-improving Mirko Vucinic, however he could snap up another of his former players, Antonio Di Natale, with the money left over from the Mancini-Iaquinta exchange.
