allegri already told morata to shut up way BEFORE he got his warning. then morata kept talking to the ref and he got a deserved yellow. the point was to let him know to keep his temper under control, otherwise he can't stay on the pitch.

i don't even understand how can anyone defend morata in this situation. he obviously lost his cool, got too frustrated, and nothing positive comes out of it in a team sport, on or off the pitch. he's 29 ffs, an experienced player, not a kid anymore, and this is juve where discipline should be a given with every player. adrenaline doesn't mean you have to lose your cool if you can't score.

I'm not defending Morata, that's a misinterpretation or me not explaining clearly. It's wrong by Morata but anyone in their right mind knows that's how a frustrated player will react at that time. There have been thousands of examples like that before this. So it's clearly a dumb move by Allegri.

Max is stating a point by subbing Morata straight after the yellow and calling him out on it. Thats the only way to manage primadonnas like Morata and I love Max for it.

Timing, pal. Timing. Also, the kind of manager that doesn't let his people talk back is a shitty manager anyway. I'm in a very open dialogue with my personel. Mistakes happen, deal with it... at the right time. Not right after the freaking mistake when he's loaded with adrenaline and frustration. The sub speaks for itself and is the strongest signal.

It's useless and it's proven by the actual reaction. Call him out the next day and it'll stick much longer. Now it only adds to the frustration for a player we need... Unless you're counting on Kean as a starter all of sudden.

You possess emotional intelligence - I commend you. Many people just don't get it. It's about reading people and understanding situations. If I have an argument with a subordinate or a gf, the worst thing I could possibly do is retaliate, risking escalating the situation further. You don't strike while the iron is still hot in this situation.

I think calling him out the next day would actually be worse. If you need to address something 24 hours after it happened, it should be about something a little bigger than a guy getting emotional during a game. Squash it immediately and move on. Don’t need to risk making a relatively small issue into something bigger. I’d be surprised if either one was thinking about it today.

So true. And I could see myself telling off my boss in front of other employees. That's the worst part. In his office if you think you're right, that is the way to do it. Of course in this instance Morata so NO RIGHT! Max has nothing to lose by sitting this guy to wake up anyone on the team that is half asleep with no urgency to right the ship.

Max appears to be one who doesn't baby his players but if he did should have been done to the GOAT baby named CR7. He is special but Max didn't play along so doubt he does with anyone else on the club.

It's a matter of how and when. It's only a yellow card. One of hundred in a season. The day after Allegri brings the message clearly instead of this shit and Morata doesn't react emotionally but cognitive as well. Now he's once more been put to shame in front of everbody. That for a typical confidence player.
