He's going get some grief now I feel bad for him but at the same time I can't help thinking that we shouldn't keep him he seems to have very brittle confidence I think if he had the mindset of someone like Ronaldo he would be one hell of a player
Nonsense. Morata has had to play for years alongside Ronaldo. He can take it and will get better for it. He's not a fragile snowflake.
Danny Olmo holds the record for most shots without a goal in this tournament. He was on 16 before the match, and I think had 3 more tonight as well. Missed the penalty too.
But yeah let’s blame Morty.
Sounds about right.
Sky sports gave Olmo a rating of 8 and said he didn’t deserve to miss his penalty which was a far worse penalty taken, and gave Morata a 6 for missing his.
They also gave Olmo credit for his part in Morata’s goal which was literally accepting the layoff from Morata who had run with the ball past Italian mids, laid it off to Olmo who passed it back for Morata’s perfect run and finish.
Retards. Lol. Morty created and finished his goal and was the only reason the game went to penalties.
Olmo: miss penalty and every shot: 8
Morata: miss penalty and score a match-saving goal in half of Olmo's pitch time: 6
“He (Morata) has an abductor issue. And it really says a lot about his personality that even despite that he wanted to take a penalty," Luis Enrique said. "He has gone through some tough times in this competition but he was brilliant. He really created a lot of uncertainty within the Italian ranks. He scored, of course, so he was excellent."
Turns out he wasn’t dropped, he was injured and not fit to play the full match. And even with the abductor injury still scored a brilliant goal and was fantastic before penalties.
Didn't see that. Well that makes a little more sense for Enrique. But knowing Enrique, it's possible Morata had that same abductor problem through half the tournament.
Olmo had a great game tho. Was finding space everywhere.
If your aim is running around and finding space, yes. But while many Italy tifosi were freaking out in the beginning of the second half -- legitimately because Italy had zero attempts on goal to Spain's 6 (1 on target) -- I did not sense Spain's attack was potent enough to break mistakes by Boner, Chiello or Dollar.
So Olmo may not be a Molinaro, but people defended Molinaro over his effort in the absence of results. Olmo was not changing the match in Spain's favor until Morata came on.
