Morata is twice the player Icardi will ever be if you ask me, a 110m poacher and what else could he bring? That's mostly it lol. However whats aswell true is that they are two very different players, one is solely a finisher with a miserable character whereas the other is an all-round powerhouse that could also improve his finishing with time, ofc it might depend more on who they'd eventually be replacing but i'd still rather the spaniard in most scenarios tbf. :D

now beware of the Icardi fanboys coming through after this tho

Yea I would take Morata over Icardi. The latter still is the better player probably though.

That midfield would be really good but not even close to MVPP
Mvpp was excellent but lets not pretend they dominated the football world for many years.

As good as the vidal pogba combo was, they were not passing offensive monsters, and in fact we relied a lot on pirlo to do the thing. Pogba and vidal were very good at keeping things tight with their physical game, but we are not talking about kroos and modric here. Once pirlo got shut down, we were very limited even with those 2.

We can for sure create something similarly good or even better.

The real problem would be to replace prime vidal, who was a Goat in those 2 seasons he peaked. Pogmoron can ve replaced and Pirlo, with all his brilliance, was getting old.

So it was overrated? Thing is SMS, Pjanic and Kovacic are far away from the individual quality MVPP offered (except SMS). Saying otherwise is being delusional

Morata: 'Why I was in Turin’
By Football Italia staff

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata explains why he was pictured in Turin - “we’re here to attend a birthday party”.

The Spanish international was pictured with Bianconeri sporting director Fabio Paratici in Milan last month, immediately sparking rumours of a return to Juventus.

Over the weekend he was pictured in Turin with his wife Alice, and the forward has explained why he was in Italy this time.

“We’re here to attend a birthday party,” Morata told SportMediaset.

“Right now I don’t know anything about my future. Right now I’m just thinking about my holidays.”

This Higuain for Morata trade all depends on how we plan to use to Morata.

If the idea is to sell Higuain and Manbro, play Dybala at CF and use Morata as Manbro replacement then sure.

If the plan is to straight swap the CF position from Higuain to Morata then :howler:

Morata: Friend of Chelsea star admits he wants Juve return

SHOW GALLERY
08 June at 15:35
Marco Cicchetto, aka Rayden is Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata’s friend and is also friends with other current and former footballers.

Rayden says the Spain international striker was sad when he left Juventus and returned to Real Madrid in the summer of 2016. Alvaro Morata signed for the English Premier League club in 2017. Rayden says the striker is willing to rejoin Juventus, but so far there has been no official offer from the Turin club.

Morata was spotted in Turin and there were rumours of him rejoining Juventus. In reality, he was there to attend his friend’s wedding.

"He would be ready to take a pay cut to return to his former club, Juventus, absolutely. The quality of life here with family, friends and so on is ery good here. There is no comparison of that with London, he would return to Turin very willingly,” Rayden told Ilbianconero.

"I saw him on Sunday, he does not like Juve, he left us a bit of a heart, then when you have real and sincere human ties it's like coming home, but officially there was not even a poll Juventus for him.”

My guess:

I think there is willingness from both Juventus and morata for a reunion.... but IMO this deal is stalled because of Sarri´s future.

IMO, the moment Sarri is appointed as chelsea´s coach (If he is appointed that is)....he will ask for Higuain and then negotiations can happen.

Thats why i think things are in standby for the moment.
