Marotta: 'Pogba and Morata mirages'
By Football Italia staff

Juventus director Beppe Marotta spoke of a Crotone “minefield” and the “mirage” of seeing Paul Pogba and Alvaro Morata return.

It kicks off at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT), click here for the line-ups and Liveblog.

“This match is a potential minefield and we have everything to lose. We’ve already seen us have difficult trips recently to SPAL and Benevento,” Marotta told Mediaset Premium.

“We’re not going to win the Scudetto today, there are 15 points still to go and we need to be consistent before and after facing Napoli.”

He was asked about reports that Pogba and Morata could return to Juventus, as they seem to be regretting their moves to Manchester United and Chelsea respectively.

“Personally, I don’t believe in returns, but there are exceptions. These are two great players and good lads, but to be honest, they are mirages for us. :beppe:

“Matteo Darmian? No, nothing has been done there.”

Marotta also spoke about the on-going controversy over the Champions League exit to Real Madrid.

“VAR is an instrument that is not perfect, but it does reduce the number of errors. It should be used in the Champions League as soon as possible.

“It’s paradoxical that there should be VAR in Italy, goal-line officials in some countries, not in others. We said Pierluigi Collina assigned a referee that was not experienced enough for the task at hand.”

It just hit me, what if plot twist, was just a random ~30seconds surprise encounter around a fancy area in Milano where they briefly exchanged a couple of words and then moved on. Hint: shopping bags and standing brief discussion lol

Maybe that ain't the case here tho, hopefully they were just having a post-meeting chat before splitting up :D

It'll be loan + option for ~€40m. Potentially great deal, but Morata doesn't convince me. What he would add is genuine countering threat in the CF position. Currently that is limited to our wingers.

Mirată is a really good lad.
And he trully loves Juve.
It is certain that he will return one day, but there is one major concern for us, he is not prolific enough!
We could tolerate that on a SS, but not on a finisher...

Thats too poor a deal for Chelsea. They're known to sell high. I certainly see us overpaying for this deal should it happen.

It's going to be a figure close to what chelsea paid. Very similar to the cuadrado deal. Chelsea made only a few mill pounds loss, I expect the same here.

fuk dat. If he comes as a MAndzo replacement..he will most likely go to the wing, leaving the 9 department to Dybala, or Higuain or whoever.....and Morata being used as reserve 9 when the main one needs rest/injury. Just like Mandzu is used today but with more playing time.

But those newss...:tuttosport::tuttosport::tuttosport::tuttosport:

Moratabacckkkkkk!!! It was destiny!. He loved Juve, he deserves it and us too.
