Morata: 'Thanks, Juventus'

By Football Italia staff

Alvaro Morata published a letter to thank everyone at Juventus ahead of his move to Real Madrid.

An official statement by the Merengues confirmed that the striker would be returning to Spain, in spite of the Bianconeri's continued efforts to retain him.

In a letter published on his official site, Morata expressed his gratitude to all the people he worked with.

“Hello everyone,” writes Morata. “Writing this letter isn't easy for me. I'd like firstly to thank all the people who believed in me, who placed their faith in me and who treated me extremely well to make me happy at Juventus and in Turin.

“Thanks to president Andrea Agnelli, Pavel Nedved, John Elkan, Giuseppe Marotta, Matteo Fabris and above all to Fabio Paratici and Javier Ribalta. Thanks to all the people who work for this immense club that is Juventus. Workers, physiotherapists, doctors, security, chefs. In brief, thanks to all who are part of Juve.

“Thanks of course to all the Juventus fans in the world for their unconditional love and support, which was never lacking.

“Thanks to the Coach for believing in me and for turning me into a better footballer, to the captains who took care of me with such dedication and to my teammates for all the incredible days I spent with them, because winning with them was spectacular.

“I remain marked by this club, its history and all of you. Wherever I go I'll always feel like a Juventino and I'll be able to say with pride and in a loud voice that I wore the Juventus colours and that I was one of their champions.

“Thanks once again to everyone for letting me be part of this family.”

:touched:

Well, good luck Alvarito. I was looking forward to seeing you develop even more in our shirt and hopefully becoming one of the very best. I guess you'll be another Morientes now.

This relationship is something that could've given us 30-40 goals next season.

Those words don't sound like they are coming from someone who's planning to return.

As for the letter and Morata:  wtf
Obvs it doesnt, as he is going to madrid and he cannot say they he will return just before going there.

But we dont know how the situation could be in a year or 2. He can have a major fall out and just ask to be sold. :crossfingers:

We have seen weirder cases so...

Oh, but we do.

If he does well we'll never see him here. But if we do, he'll be 32yo and in the age when Serie A starts chasing fading stars.

If he does poorly, then again I doubt we'll chase him, simply because I expect us to sign someone this summer, somebody who will stay here for a long time.

Ofcourse he won't stay at Real Madrid until he is 30 or something.. Only Ronaldo and Ramos can..

If Morata only has a slightest dip in form the whole stadium will whistle at him (like they did at their fucking hero ronaldo when he didn't score a hattrick that one time) and morata will have a new experience.. Being an expensive striker but getting whistled at..

And then he reminds that awesome club in Turin where he had a period of 3 months where he didn't scored and still people would be happy to see him play... He'll come back in a couple of years and stay with us..

Madrid fans are neurotic. Even the almighty hedonist ronaldo has a tough time dealing with it. Morata will surely not witshand that kind of backleash and treason from the fans.

Here he is loved.

I think we have to deal that the ship has sailed.

Do I like Morata? He's amazing and I'm pissed it ended up like this.

Do I see him coming back? Not at all.
