This one still has legs regardless ; a lot of things at play. Do we think Arsenal (who are being linked) are going to stump up 50 mill for Morata? This is a club that has only exceeded the 30 mill mark (in transfers) only 3 times in its history.
They just paid 42m for a mid level good CM like Xhaka, defenitely will put in ze major dinero for Morata if they want him. They literally been holding their massive profits back and barely use it, so they can afforc prolly two big signings let alone one.

Morata: ““Of course returning to Real Madrid is what I'd like best. This is my desire, to win with Real Madrid. But in that club there are some extraordinary players, and what I want is to play and feel important.

Next year I'll play for the team that gives me the greatest opportunities to do that.”

Even if RM don't keep him he would go to EPL. ManUtd, Arsenal or Chelsea could almost promise him an starter spot and Max clearly didn't no matter what stats everyone brings on. We could watch around season long how Morata were use as a Sub. Actions speaks louder and clearly than words so there's nothing we can say right now

Sub morata was a sub.

And yes I can see him playing in the epl easily. The league is head and shoulders above poor man serie A. Betetr stadiums, better players, better coverage.

Serie A right now really seems to be a mess of Juventus steamrolling and the rest of the teams being pure utter shidn with ugly empty stadiums with track fields, and no money.

Chelsea would be more dissapointing then United because? Makes no sense, they will compete for same trophies, and generally seem more CL experienced/ready then current Man U bunch.

I also had a meltdown but mano, please breathe. We all know that but you dont go to an ugly fat short lady and call her all that at loud, be nice. Serie A would be better, Berlusconi are gonna sell or die son. The asían guy is trying with Ínter. Let's give them sometime and they might be able to fight us the italian cup in a couple of years

Yes they would. They made sure everything is in their hands when the deal was agreed so they obviously had the intention to bring him back
You can't be sure about that, to be honest you are just making an assumption here.

I am not saying they would have certainly accepted to forget about the buyback clause have we offered 30-35M two years ago, but it's quite possible they would have. You my friend on the other hand are sure they won't accept any deal without a buyback regardless of what we offer for no good reason.

you said we should move to other targets if we cant get him without a buyback? since it was impossible to get him without that option, the only other choice is signing someone else
That's precisely were we disagree, have Madrid publicly excluded the possibility to accept any bid for Morata without a buyback clause regardless of the offered sum?

I might be wrong or missing something but I can't recall hearing such thing from Madrid side TBH.

The guy served us well for this two years. If he wants to leave, we should look at his good service and accept he is leaving. After all we did know that this was a possibility when we signed him.
There is no reason to feel bitter every time a player leaves us.

they refused a higher bid from VW (30M+) and when you look at the details of the deal, they made sure its all in their hands about Moratas future.we have to pay them 80M if we sell him, so we cant do that, we have to pay 100M if we want to remove the buyback, so we cant do that either. Morata cant refuse to go back there as he likely has already signed a contract there that becomes active when the clause is triggered. its all in their hands so its not just an assumption, its the most likely scenario that happened
