Extension means nothing with the Real Madrid clause still in the contract between clubs. Although, there also seems like there is some sort of Juve counter clause incase Madrid want to exercise their option to buy Morata.

Yeah. I was wondering what these counter-clauses might be?

In today's Football world a player's word is a worth a bag of farts. But hope it does mean he's staying.
Just remember the recent Vidal case. A supposed bianconero thru and thru... but he forgot about us rather fast. Because fo this, players like camo, nedved, trez, buff, dp...are unique.

Morata will be back to being clutch, but Trezeguet never missed 4-5 good chances in a game.
Different players. Its true that trezeguet almost guaranteed 1 goal every 2 big games... but its also true that outside finishing..he was limited.

Morata is not as foxy as trez inside the area.. but the guy can run and tire defenders when needed. He has other qualities.... is just that trez was an out and out poacher/scorer,.

You have to remember that Morata can refuse to go to Madrid and we know that if he want to be with us then Madris dont have a say in the matter. So we have to kiss his balls for a while to get him to stay. All well deserved though because he is a great talent

It is very wise timing from us to extend his contract while he is in bad shape. It shows that we admire and count on him in the future. This thing will help him to overcome his current form.

I wouldn't be surprised if he gets his chance against Fiorentina.

renewing his contract wont help us to keep him, if Real really wants him and they still claim that they do and i really doubt that he will raise a veto on the 30mil transfer, as he never said i wouldnt like to return there, like our Giovinco said, but only that he is currently focused on Juventus...
However it will be a decent morale booster, one that cost us a few millions though...

It certainly is bad that he seems to like it here.

The guys been benched by Mandzukic and is in horrible form, and people are worried that Madrid are going to kick the door down and snatch him away at any moment

Considering there's maybe 2 dozen players in the World Madrid can't get, i'm not too worried about them making Morata their number 1 choice. He'd have to get his end of season form back AND build on it.
