I remember Bayern suffered an incredible no.of injuries when they won a treble in 2013.

Funnily enough, I am calm about this because I kinda expected us to have a long injury list at the start of the season considering the season we had last yr.

I'd treat it as a two separate deals. We sold him last summer for 8m iirc, we had no ownership on player and used that money for other purposes, then decided to bring him this year for 18m. For instance we sold Vidal for 37m and if we bring Gotze for 40m, are we gonna claim that Gotze's cost was 3m?

18m for 4th/5th striker has very little sense imho, if there aren't some other deal involved, like Berardi. But that's just guessing.

Zaza is worth €18m in todays market and yet we've only paid a total €10m for him. That's good business. Marottas dealings with Sassuolo is quite opaque so we don't know whats really in this. Berardi has a fixed buyback clause, we've got first hand rights on Vrsaljko etc etc.. Who knows..

This Zaza deal has been negotiated back and forth for years already - when we sell them Berardi for €12m (can't remember exactly) it's not Marotta valuing Berardi at €12m, it's a way of justifying us buying him for €20m next summer..

I seriously doubt any other team would pay €18m for Zaza, rightfully so.
