If he starts well here I think it could make a massive difference for him. It would be like picking up where he left off.

I don't see any reason why he can't. His spells at Chelsea and Atletico were nowhere near as bad as made out and he seems relaxed, happy and motivated.

The amount of sitters he missed at Chelsea were awful though, won't hold it against him. Most strikers at Chelsea didn't succeed

It is unusual for footballers to be this honest about not having a good time in their careers as most of them focus on not hurting their "brand". For me, it shows unfulfilled ambitions. I have no problem with that attitude for a 27 year old as it could mean he's hungry for more success.
This. Its better if he fills unfulfilled, instead of content (like Higuain).

Most of those are not even sitters.

yeh they were not bad at all, but he was rated a top promising striker after he left here and was judged as one. So he doesnt fulfilled expectations

People love a miss compilation.

You would have plenty to choose from for Ronaldo but he is one of the best ever. I actually don't mind strikers missing chances so long as they keep coming back and get the next one. Ronaldo and Pippo Inzaghi are/were masters at that. Morata needs to get the personality to not dwell on a miss.

You could tell his head was gone at Chelsea and didn't really settle. The mental aspect plays a lot on a striker when they have time to think about chances. He started well at Chelsea then faded badly.

There is also a lot more to his game than finishing, that assist v Bayern is the prime example.

Yeah you can't argue he hasn't fulfilled his potential fully. Although I never saw him as someone who could be a no. 9 that you build your attack on.

:agree:

To be fair, he joined Chelsea in Conte's 2nd season (the usual mental breakdown) and stayed thru half a season with the Sarri syndrome. The atmosphere was toxic in his entire Chelsea career.

The mental part is always fundamental in almost anything. He will do very here, I have that impression. :)
Honestly, I cant think of an activity that does not involve a good mental health to perform well.

I don’t care if he flops hard, after taking a pay cut to come back, especially during a pandemic, I will unconditionally support Morata for the rest of his career. The only other players I’ve felt that way about were Del piero, Buffon, and Chiellini.

Dybala too. Refused to allow Tootsie and Goldilocks to sell him. Has consistently shown by his words and actions that he wants to be a protagonist at this club for the duration of his career.

We’ll see. He rejected Tottenham and Man U. Let’s see what happens when a real club comes calling. I still remember him saying he would swim to Barcelona.

Why do people still bring up his Chelsea career as if it means anything?
He played as a lone striker upfront and had little goalscoring support. He always struggles if he's the one who has to do the goalscoring.
At Juve, he won't have any pressure to score, he just has to make the other attackers do their thing, which he's great at.
Also, these are the goals he scored for Atleti last season. Not bad for a guy who always misses the target.

Just look at the ronaldo misses vs Sampdoria. For a player of his standards, those misses were catastrophic, he could have sulked after them, but nope.

No fan of ours would want him to fail now that we signed him..

His record is terrible as a striker so i dont expect it to be a success..

Disappointing considering the club was supposedly in the mix to sign Suarez or Dzeko who are both car superior strikers ..

15 goals in 63 games the last time Morata was with us.. if thats not a dud Striker i dont know what is..
Yeah but Suarez and Dzeko are past their prime. You don't want us to be stuck with them when they can't even run?

A great striker is a great goalscorer in any league in any competition..

Moratas strike rate is poor for a striker.. But i dont need to say that as the stats speak for themselves..
Morata works hard for his team, provides assists.
