That is because they have a great midfield, Cam.

If Dybala and Higuain had the midfield that we had a few years ago, they wouldn't have had to track back either. It's not the amount of midfielders, but the quality of them.
I know they have a great midfield, that much is obvious. But, again my opinion, to give OUR midfield a chance it should have been man for man equal (3v3). We didn't have a midfielder playing with a decent passing range.

I get the idea that Max said fuck it, lets just take our chances and try to attack them. That ended up being a dud. We needed help transitioning the ball down the field.

We have been doing well with a 3 man midfield, I don't understand why he changed it against arguably the best team in Europe against the greatest player of all time.

I just don't get it though. How can a club with Higuain, Dybala, Costa, Bernie, Mario ANNNNND Cuadrado look so clueless in the box? Drives me up the fucking wall. We can do so well moving the ball down the field but as soon as we get INTO the box we turn into a bunch of farts in a skillet.
Cuz the midfield sux and can't string three passes together. We need players with drive and physicality in midfield, players that push the ball forward instead of constantly passing it sideways.

Also, why is just in italics? :p

Maybe, just maybe, he is getting a lot of things wrong? I mean...everyone and their mom can see that we cant play with 2 midfielders but he insist on doing that against the most lethal midfield.

I just see we play the same grindy football one game after another and theres no sign of plan B or to try something remotely interesting. Young players not used, other players used in unfamiliar positions. Forwards tasked to defend on midfield. Old players getting plenty of time for no reason.

Theres just too many things to just pretend nothing is going on.
I really think allegri hit a wall in this team.

Just is always in italics and always should be. It's just the way it should be on Tuz :D

Midfield is our first priority at making our team better. I mentioned Hamsik (or someone like him) that can push the ball forward.

With the possible departure of Mario Mandzukic this summer, "the hypothesis of Alvaro Morata returning to Turin should not be discarded." [RAI]

To be honest we need a Higuain alternative, and Kean is too young to come to spend seasons on the bench.

between morata, pjaca and costa rotating the wings, we would be set on the left side of a 433, but he also would play instead of Higuain when needed.

but well.. we dont play 433...so maybe him coming to be pippa bemch at a steep price would be too much money

and we need both. morata without higuain is a downgrade for us

Higuain is like the most durable player on the team. If we want a hybrid #9/LW then I would much rather go for Martial.

IMO we should instead sell Mandzukic, Pjaca and Sandro to fund Martial transfer. He could explode here and eventually take over from Higuain as well.

Big fan of Morata, but I rather have Higauin.
Hmm.. I think Morata would be more of a rotational player for us. He'd play more than during his first stint with us, but I doubt he'd play all the time.

Probably a better option than Griezmann though (even if he is easily the player I most like to watch these days) as Griezmann and Dybala are not compatible. Not sure why we're supposedly so interested in him.

Morata is a great player but imo his price tag is just insane. Real knows how to sell, but his price is still way too high IMO. I'd never consider selling Sandro to fund a player like Morata.

There's a reason Chelsea would want him out. He didn't deliver and he was simply overpaid. But buying him at this point would be impossible unless we sell big again, which would be a disaster.

Are we actually interested in Griezmann? Only way we would be IMO is if we are looking to sell Dybala...:boh:

Imo he pretty much delivered what I expected him to deliver. Morata is never going to score more than 20, but will usually score over 10. I think he's around 11-12 or something in the league right now.

I have no idea how serious it is, just read about it in Belgian papers and heard about it on Belgian tv. I thought it was weird though, because there's just no way we'd have room for both Dybala and Griezmann. And even if Griezmann is the better player right now, Dybala is our star player right now and sacrificing him seems odd.

I agree with you. But then again, I'd never spend 80 million euros on a player who'd deliver that much. That's just above average while the price tag is rather insane.
