Alvaro :touched:

this was his 66th goal (along with 34 assists) for Real Madrid (excluding Castilla), Juventus and Chelsea in about 9000 minutes of play. goal/assist every ~90 minutes for his club career so far. hopefully he can win the EPL and become the 1st player (?) to win all 3 major leagues - La Liga, Serie A and EPL
this is interesting, tried to recall other prominent players to travel between the biggest clubs of 3 leagues, but couldn't recall anyone to win all 3, Henry and Becks never won in Italy, Anelka never won in Spain (won the CL with Madrid, but finished 5th in the league were champions Deportivo had 69 points ), Ibra never won in England. I guess no one has done it.

He definitely showed it when he took us to the final in 2015.

Also, when Morata was here he had a couple of months of really bad form and everyone criticized him for it. Nobody turned a blind eye.
Yeah, let's pretend he brought us to the final himself. There was no Tevez, Pirlo, Vidal, Buffon, BBC or others in that team.

That's right, no one has done it. Not even a PL/PD/Bundesliga treble. A few won in a smaller league and two big leagues though, mostly Dutch players.
what is PD? Robben has Eredivisie, Premier League, La Liga and Bundesliga, while Ibra has won Eredivisie, Serie A, La Liga and Ligue 1, those two have the most colorful trophy cabinet I'd imagine

When did I say he did it alone? It's a team sport so obviously he didn't do it all by himself.

Way to miss the point, btw.

He was an important player who showed up when it mattered the most, even in the final against Barcelona.

You wrote that he took us to the final hence my impression. He was fundamental in a few games, no doubt. However, he was very inconsistent as well. After that 2015 season I thought we will be the one carrying us since Tevez left but that was never the case. He played a very good game in Munich but what besides that? Not much. It's always easier to deliver once in a while than to perform on a regular basis. At Madrid they also rather sell him and put the faith in Benzema (seeing how the Frenchman is doing right now might cast some doubts though). We'll see how he does at Chelsea where he's their main man.

yeah, Ibra had a great chance if he didnt get the injury. this season United looks much better and with him healthy they would be genuine contenders. still hope Conte can turn it around like last season and that City will burn out around January so Morata gets it, will be tough

Primera Division/La Liga. Oh yeah Robben, he's done a big three.
i wouldnt call it a big three unless its PD, EPL and Serie A. those are the top 3 leagues historically after all, only after that comes Germany and then France, Portugal and Eredivisie

The Bundesliga had a strong spell in the 70s and 80s but yeah Serie A overall has it.
Obviously, historically (and always really) top 3 are Serie A, La Liga, and EPL. No ifs or buts about it. With Bundesliga the solid 4th. However, I do believe the Portuguese league could have an argument against the French league's claim to be the 5th (historically and trophy-wise).

Historically Eredivisie > Bundesliga, the dutch have / had (sadly) their own juve milan merda in ajax psv feyenord

I can see some sheiks or chinese reviving eredivisie and they could leapfrog to the 4th league.

can't see that happening, dutch football has reached all-time low, their NT is at a point people are not even surprised by them not qualifying to major tournaments anymore

I don't think it would have worked out for him here

Serie A doesn't suit him and the tactical game here is difficult to adapt to for strikers.

Premier League suits him much seeing as it's much more open and chances come and go like crazy with the hoofball they play there

Yep, even with his flaws (tho he seems to becoming more consistent scorer now), this is a guy I instantly liked, should have been kept. Bring him back if its possible.

He would probably work better with Dybala simply because he doesnt require to be the box presense or the one to finish off all attacks all the time.
