Morata regrets Juve exit

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata admits “I’d have never left Italy and Juventus” if he had it his way.

Morata won two Scudetti in two seasons at Juve, as well as picking up a Champions League runners-up medal, before moving back to Real Madrid last summer.

However, the Spaniard’s return was short-lived – despite an impressive goal record in 2016-17 – as he went on to join Chelsea over the summer.

Why I chose to return to Real Madrid? Because there were contractual agreements that needed to be respected,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

The disappointment was enormous: I found myself back to square one. They treated me like the boy I was before my two seasons in Italy.

“Juve’s trademark? A winning mentality and great professionalism. My two seasons at Juve were great.

“I went there as a boy and left as a real player. For a Spaniard, Italy is the best country to live in.

“You have everything: beauty, history, art, cooking, fashion. I’d have never left Italy and Juve.”
:touched:

He will come back eventually.

Really smart move by Conte to snatch him up, worth every penny. hurts a bit to know Juve made this guy what he is today and how unlucky we were to lose him so cheap, i still hope to see him back one day tho. :frown:

He hadn't scored for 8 or so games and was under a bit of pressure but that was a really nice header (even if he was left totally unmarked), and he seems to be grabbing a few of them this season.

Alvaro :touched:

this was his 66th goal (along with 34 assists) for Real Madrid (excluding Castilla), Juventus and Chelsea in about 9000 minutes of play. goal/assist every ~90 minutes for his club career so far. hopefully he can win the EPL and become the 1st player (?) to win all 3 major leagues - La Liga, Serie A and EPL

True. People here hate Gonzalo and love Alvaro (I love both), but most of them will turn a blind eye to the fact that Morata scored after 6 games and that Higuain has 5 goals in his last 4 games.
