Sevilla...yeah...those lost chances :sergio:

He did nothing to remember except with Bayern, that's why he was a bench.

Get over it,no need to panic :

All his goals in the previous CL run to help get us to the final was "nothing" then, I suppose?

I swear this is deja vu from the Ibra days with us.

That is not the point. Not even close to the point. This team survived the losses of Baggio, ZIdane, Nedved, Trez, Del Piero.

The point here is where exactly are we going to find a 23 year old forward, or someone nearly as young, with his skill set that already accomplished quite a bit in the CL for us, and has a big match mentality?

For 30 million, no less?

In THIS market?
We paid 2 million more for Dybala, who is younger and alot more talented... So it's possible we can find them.

The only supposed silver lining here is that with Morata gone, he can no longer be part of a potential deal for Pogba, and he would've been one of the main sweeteners in any realistic deal for Pogba with Madrid. May just be that we won't sell Pogba as a result this summer, but I'm still at 50-50. Losing Morata, Cuadrado and Pogba in one summer and then talking about CL aspirations is just so underwhelming and disappointing, irrespective of the replacements. Any new players would need time to settle, and it only means starting over from where we did last summer. Really not the way I was hoping things would move. We can't catch a break with this stuff.

Too bad - I really like him. To be honest, I didn't think they would buy him after such a poor season.
Madrid probably pushed for Pogba and Marotta said gtfo. You can't say no to Perez and that's why he takes Morata back.

At least this is how i explain it to myself. Cause i don't see any club paying 60m for Morata and i don't see him as a starting material for Real as well.

2 million more? How is 32 + 8 = 2 million more than 20 million?
I'm lost.

Fee upfront for Dybala was 2 million more than what we've now got for Morata, those 8 million in bonuses are if Juventus win and the player does well so immaterial at this point.

We've got 30 million for Morata now, so my point is what's saying we can't find someone better for more or less the same price? We proved we could 12 months before.

Listen if we don't replace Morata well enough then yes we're in trouble, my point is he's not a Dybala type figure who we would find it impossible to replace.

Seriously fuck off.

I've never been a big fan of Morata ever since he arrived, feel free to dig through my posts to prove that, at one point I was arguing I preferred Zaza over him, so the above isn't anything new.
So your argument is you have been wrong all along, not just right now?

Zaza over Morata

I think he was alluding to the supposed 30m we had to spend on Morata to buy him from Madrid, and the 32m we paid for Dybala without considering the bonuses.
Let's look at a couple of things here

#1) We bought Morata for 20 million
#2) When we bought Dybala, he was on the last year of his contract, and 32 + 8, despite his talent, was still considered high, taking everything into consideration
#3) IF you want to use the assumption that we would have paid 30 million to keep him, then we would have spent a total of 50 million on him, because if that is indeed true, then that is what we valued him at. And if that is the case, then we will ahve to spend at least 50 million to find a player of his age, skillset, and cache at the age of 23.
