in what way is this mercato horrible? we have strengthened the full back areas,we have strengthened the midfield,we have brought in a very good forward, all we need now is possibly a centre back and LM which marotta is working on.
so please, tell me how this is a horrible market? or are you so busy lamenting every "lost opportunity" that the media claims?
-We have again chosen quantity over quality and risked to add more squad player, than investing on a couple high class starters.
-Again we have overlooked our cronic LW and defensive issues (apart from the best transfer of the season Licht)
-Again we have invested the majority of our transfer budget on yet another CM and SS, despite having enough of them to field a whole formation made of them.
-Again we have failed to sign our primary targets and have wasted our budget on opportunity targets, undermining our chances to buy quality starters even at the latest part of mercato, or at worst save money and buy them in a next transfer window.
-Again we failed to sale our players for decent amounts, or use them as bargain coins.
-Again we have squashed our strategic plans and submitted to panic buys.
-Again we have failed to avoid losing vast sums of our capital, invested on players like Melo, that particular fiasco, is IMO one of the worst transfer failure action of the last decade. Totally uncalled to gift this player and have him replaced, after a decent season, over our cronic and more urgent needs, while losing most, if not all of the invested sum on him, for no particularly good reason.
-Again we are letting the nationalist sentiments decide over our interest and needs for better performances.
Should i go on?

actually a CB should be a periority over any other position right now. We can survive this season with a left winger like Pasquato who actually looked pretty good in the preseason games. Both Barzagli and Bonucci are crappy defenders who can cost us many many points this season if we kept faith in them.
No matter how great our attackers and wingers are if we're gonna conceede 2-3 goals almost every game because of mistakes from those two we will end up in a pretty poor position in the table. If we have a poor defence the whole team will be shaky and players will lose faith pretty quick in the team.
If our team is solid in the back then mentaly the whole team will be stronger IMO. My only concern with Alex is his injuries, i just hope he won't be injured most of the season (ala andrade) and we'd be forced to play the rest of the season with the likes of bonucci and Barzagli.
True that, our defense still sucks and a more offensive formation and less competent technician will expose it even more.
Objectively, we really do not a better Chiello starter, this should have been our priority, when we were spending 45-mil to secure Matri, Quaq and Vucinic.
BUT, we have changed 50% of our defense, by adding two better wingbacks and if we keep sorensen, on theory, we can at least field a relatively decent defense with Zegllier, Chiello, Licht and one of Bonucci, Barzagli or Sorensen in a good or decent day.
But on the left flank, our best bet is Martinez, which is... just a Martinez, he rarely has decent days...
Pasquato did not impressed me much, he is a poor man's Giovinco imo and if Giovinco failed to survive the physical serie A, despite his superior speed and techinque, i doubt that Pasquato can bloom as a starter under worse conditions.
This is a tragid dilema anyway, but unfortunately our board is so tragic, that has lead us to this situation and even now, they rather seem more interesting to add yet another mediocre Italian forward...
