You guys, you're slacking off. It's been like 6 pages of comments since someone has exclaimed "FUCK SUCKO!"
Interview with Secco in today's GDS. Translation will probably pop up later but here are some (key) points:
* Looks forward to a possible return of Bettega. They worked together before and have a good relationship. They are by no means "incompatible".
* About the Diego & Melo criticism: At first they were the best players, now they are the worst (in the eyes of the media/public). The high amounts we paid were necessary to get them to join us. We still spent less than Real did for their "small" purchases.
* A lot of other Italian teams wanted Diego, Bayern München as well.
* Fiorentina did absolutely not want to let go of Melo, so we had to pay his release clause.
* Melo has extraordinary quality. He cost us "only" 18,5 million because Zanetti & Marchionni were included in the deal. Both players were not a part of our project anymore. Zanetti leaving was good for Poulsen.

From day one i've said that Melo's deal was absalutely stupid but some of the guys here felt offended by that. 25 mil euros for Melo, give me a fuckin break!!
And now he's trying to find execuses left and right to say that he was right in what he'd done.
He's saying that madrid paid these ridicolous sums for there players but he didn't mention arsenal paying 17 mil for a wonderfull talent like arshavin or Inter paying 15 mil for Sneijder (whether we like him or not, he's a decent talent that was under the spot since he was just 20).
Did we really need to waste that kind of money on Melo when we had a really great up and coming talent like Marchisio who's younger yet better (and pretty similar).
Hope to see Secco out of this club. Once that happens we can expect a better future for this club.....

we already had diego for that position ... you not really would like to switch sneijder and diego, do you ?
we wanted d'agostino ... someone who would give as a quality CM and Melo does fit the bill (back then). would you rather not have gotten d'agostino nor melo ?

Quality player who was "the star" of the 2008 Euros yet they've managed to sign him for that sum. Smart business by wenger as usual.
Didn't say i've wanted sneijder in Diego's place. I didn't even mention Diego here because he was a decent buy. But infront of every decent buy there are 2-3 crap deals, Thats Secco's briliants.
No sir Melo doesn't fit the bill because D"Agostino was a regista and Melo is a CM. Totally different players.
