I don't think he will survive Conte's fitness programs. He is on his own special program at Milanello.

"I’m going out with my head high because at 36 years of age, I gave all I could."
Doesn't sound like what someone would say if they will likely be playing another season in the CL.

It might aswell mean in the context of going out with his head high for this CL season, then just in overall for his career. If he was set on retiring, he would announce it, though yes, it is a very real possibility. And I wouldnt blame him if with what he has been through physically.

Italian, free, overrated new toy, long time desirable target, zero competition from strong clubs, glorified by the Italian fans, carrying along a load of Ital NT caps.
Its impossible for Marotta to let this opportunity go.
He has done everything possible not to bring a foreigner for our defence, or make a proper investment.

Such as a move is a definition of his work.
He will sure find a way to convince our board to get him and they will order Conte to deal with it and make public comments, that we are glad to accept such a champion and give him play time like Borriello, no matter the performances...

I m just curious to see, how the fans are going to react after seeing us throwing away DP, to get a washed up, finished, Milan reject...

He made a post describing likes of Borriello-esque mediocre italians and he was aiming it at one of the alltime best defenders in Nesta  Even for Cronios that is just :howler:

Seriously, someone, PLEASE DIG UP EVERY SINGLE POST HE MADE ABOUT PIRLO before we signed him (or before his first game with us).

Cronios doesn't watch football anyway, best to ignore anyone saying Nesta is "washed up" and "finished", because he's as wrong as ever.

Aquilani is better overall for our club, but since we dont aspire to become competitive, Pirlo is the player our owners need to keep this average club earning like a big club!

The only good thing about Pirlo is that he can pass better than Aquilani
so we can do without him and also would do work better with Sissoko, as he needs a pacey bulldog gatuso-like around him.

In the long it is a clear downgrade, we are practically replacing Aquilani with Pirlo.
Pirlo has once been a greater player, far greater player, BUT Aquilani is always a decade younger and the decision to scrap u will hurt as in the long run, esp if we sell off Sissoko for peanuts in the process.
1-2 years for now the Pirlo-Pazienza duo will be worthless, while Aquilani-Sissoko will be useful, at least for depth.
And there is always the chance that Aquilani will grow better after he gets a permanent contact and fits in.

Also consider Pirlo's form, hes def not a starter material atm...
Its a clear downgrade for us, smart move from Milan!
    :D

Because we are not aiming to good players, but Italian ones who can appease to to our Italian fans.
Aquilani and Pirlo both have high prestige values, earned in the NT, it just happens that Aqui has a few more years ahead of him, before he expires...

Pirlo was a risc, he was off form, lost most of the season, but there was achance his form would return.
Nesta is 36 now, next year 37, are you guys for real???
Yes he WAS great and all, but at 37, c mon... would we sign a non Italian, 37 year old player?
Why did we let Canna leave and now DP then?

Maybe because form may be refound but youth not, unless i am mistaken...

Nesta overrated? You've outdone yourself, Cron :D
at 37, yes, he will be presented as the old Nesta, just like Borriello was presented as a great finisher with a great goal/appearance ratio...
Thats what i mean by overrated new toy, the marketing to promote the name and the glories of the past, in a new pachage.
Not ovarrated for his past contributions ago, but his future potential as a starter in highly competitive football.
None of us expected Borriello to bench Matri, or even score a goal and yet... the absurdity of our management knows no bounds and our coach is obidient.
