There was nothing doing in the first half and Matri didn't really have the chance to influence things.

In the second half the game stretched and he was moving nicely off the shoulder of the last defender.

There were times where he could have scored, but none of them were clear enough chances where you would really say they were bad misses.

I unfortunately did not get to see the game, but if there's any assessment I trust it is Reds. To everyone else, screw you .

Fuck the haters, Matri

Trouble holding on the ball, bad first touch, can't finish...nice shot and save from Marchetti and a better 2nd half but we desperately need another option up front. Beppe!!!

I partly agree with this. In all honesty, He was bad today but not as bad as we're trying to make him look.

The problem with Matri is that people are fed up and have been for the longest time. So any "Matri-standard" (read; poorest finishing imaginable) performance he puts on is seen as poor, not up to par, which in truth, really is.

The other problem is still having expectations about him, i don't know why people still have any, i don't know why I have any. We've had this lack of goals problem for years now and technically, he's one of the "employees" whose job is to solve that, he's a Striker after all.

Well, he doesn't and won't.

So all in all it's understandable why people get so mad at him, let them vent.

Gio 19 games - 6 goals - 65 shots
Quag 14 games - 6 goals - 44 shots
Vucinic 18 games - 5 goals - 49 shots
Matri 11 games - 4 goals - 16 shots

I guess his conversion rate isn't as bad as people make it to be.

It is if you consider where most of his attempts are from. I can't remember Matri shooting from outside the box or from any acute angles, the same cannot be said about the other 3 on that list. 1 rebound and 3 one-on-one with the goalie are Matri's 4 goals.

That should shut a few members up. After all, people can see which "players who are paid for scoring" are the most efficient.

Matri wasn't that bad. In the first half he got zero services, whereas in the 2nd half he was better trying to even create for himself but he never got 1 on 1 or a real chance to score. Defensively he also worked his ass off.

Giovinco and Vucinic aren't finishers. Unlike the other two.

And Giovinco and Vucinic(When he actually wants to play) actually work their ass out. Unlike the other two.

Actually, Quag sometimes helps in the pressure game, but Matri doesn't at all.

We witnessed that yesterday, where he actually could have won the ball 2-3 or throw in.
