I'm not hating him or anything, i like him alot.
If he was that good at Napoli, you don't think he'd play more or you think Mazzari benched him because he was forced to play Cavani?
What excacly did he deserve then? He is wasting as much chances as Matri does. Neither of them deserve to start.
Didnt Mazzarri and he fall out? If he wasn't considered to be good, do you think Napoli would spend as much on him as they did on Cavani? So yes, he was actually forced to play Cavani.

People here keep saying he's not prolific and not good enough, and yet, there are clubs in England, Germany and Italy wanting him. That's not coincidence. Didn't West Ham, Wolfsburg, Inter, Meelan, Fiorentina and Roma all want him in the summer? Its rumoured Wolsburg made another Jan offer. People obviously can see his talent, but its about a bit of continuity.

There's no if involved here. Continuity is key for every professional football player in the world. More so for forwards. It is a fact that Quag has not had continuity at Juve either due to injury, or the Coach's preferences. Matri is suffering from this too and its sad. I don't agree at all with the argument that our strikers aren't good enough so we should replace our substitutes. Replace your starting forwards first coz they're not going to be accepting a bench role when they're replaced by more illustrious counterparts. Only your depth players will give you that flexibility and work ethic.

And why did they fall out? i'm pretty sure it's notabout him banging goals all the time.
Clubs wanted Quags?
Yet clubs also wanted Melo, Iaquinta and even amauri was wanted by alot of clubs, that means nothing. I never claimed he wasn't good enough but the moment he plays a bad match he gets irritated quickly and tried impossible shots on goal which mostly end not even close to the goal. He needs to improve and keep giving his all instead of giving up and be angry all the time, we all know he has it in him. If you talk continuity he should focus and stay focussed , his chances will hopefully come. But he will never be a prolific striker. i think his max is around 10+ maybe 15. This is a club who need goals and can't wait for a player to finally reach his peak.
The thing is, IF the coach finds him good enough he will play and he should repay that trust by scoring. Prove that you are worth to play every match
and i know Matri didn't do that either.

Difference between Quagliarella and Matri is that even when Quagliarella hadn't played as many minutes he showed some great technique. Matri on the other hand came back looking like doofus, whiffing shots, etc.

Come on Baggio. Stats don't reveal the entire truth; you of all people should know better than that ;)
How do you tell Pirlo's greatness when you compare him to Xavi? Based on what?! Certainly not the beard or the hair. :D For a striker, especially, it will always be about his efficiency and strike ratio.

How do we remember Trezeguet today? For his ability to score or his contribution to our gameplay in all those years? Clearly the former coz he's a striker.

Really? To the best of my knowledge, no club was willing to take Amauri and Iaquinta even on loan. We had to pay Amauris salary for someone to take him off our hands if I remember. Melo mind you, is still on loan.

Wha your talking about, in terms of Quag getting irritated is probably true, but you also must realise that lack of composure is linked to continuity. He knows if he doesn't score in the game he's unlikely to start the next game because Conte has clear preferences. For me personally, I don't think either Gio or Vucinic have been on fire every time they play but they know that they can play without looking over their shoulder. Quag and Matri unfortunately will always lack composure when they play, so till Quag scores you'll find the agitation. But what's good to see, he's also hungry to get that goal to build on.

It's wrong to say he will never be a prolific striker. Some players peak early, some peak late, depending on their style and gameplay. I think Quag could be an 18-20 goal striker if given a good run. I agree they must prove they should play every match, but do Gio and Vucinic do that? I think therein lies the answer. ;)

Matri: goal every 9 shots
Quag: goal every 6 shots
Giovinco: goal every 10 shots
Vucinic: goal every 12.6 shots

Matri: assisted 1 goal
Quag: assisted 2 goals
Giovinco: assisted 6 goals
Vucinic: assisted 4 goals

hmmm.....
Doesn't make sense to put Vucinic and Giovinco in this comparison. They are not finishers.

Actually I would compare Giovinco and Matri, they tend to miss unmissable, however most of Vucinic's missed shots are just random shots from 15-20m range. Of course Giovinco still doesn't miss such and so much unmissable shots as Matri does, and he is a bit more useful in gameplay as well (despite uncountable number of lost balls)... So Matri still is our by far worst striker.
