What did I tell some of you guys about Matri...
He isn't proven yet mate, but good start.

He has had 5 good chances and 2 goals, 1 bad shot, 1 very unlucky and 1 good save when he took too long, but he gets into areas and there are plenty of good strikers who score a lot of goals through sheer percentages, maybe he'll nail that down now he has his first goals.

Well, we can all look at this way - Matri scored more goals in 75mins. than Amauri did in one year at Juventus :D

I'll take the missed chances as long as he finds himself in many chances. Just like I was supporting Iaquinta too. Ideally we'd have a great striker who will have a great chance/goals ratio, but after Amauri everything is improvement and in this particular season when we manage to put the ball in the box much more often than last year, we desperately need someone who will follow the ball movement and find himself in chances. We aren't in position to choose much in the next 14 rounds. I only want someone to make connection with the balls sent in opponent's box, unlike that guy we shipped out in Parma.
Gretzky's quote that you miss 100% of the shots you don't take is valid in this case too. Better score 1 and miss 2 than not score at all and not miss a chance either.

I obviously hope for improvement in Matri's finishing, though.

Yes :D When you watch Matri it's easier to appreciate all the things Amauri doesn't do. Not just scoring, but having the belief and anticipation to get into good areas.

I agree with you. I rather him miss some chances, but still be able to net in goals. He'll be complete if he can work on bagging all the chances he gets.

This is a bit off-topic but: in your signature, that quote from Del Neri. What an awful excuse...
