Gretzky's quote that you miss 100% of the shots you don't take is valid in this case too. Better score 1 and miss 2 than not score at all and not miss a chance either.

I obviously hope for improvement in Matri's finishing, though.

Exactly my thoughts. He and Iaquinta are very similar. Very good positioning both have, but this guy has better finishing and Iaquinta can assist and keep the ball better than him, I am excited to see how both will play together, hard to predict if they can complete each others. But Matri next to Quagliarella will be the bomb.

The haters will focus on the missed chances all the time, just like Iaquinta's case :)

The thing I like most about Matri is his positioning he seems to be in the right place at the right time and has a pretty good shot, 2 very well taken volleys today..

Imagine him and Quag upfront
