Considering the names you mentioned and the fact that we will pay about 20+mil for a guy who merely gets to score 10 goals/season, i cant see how we could do any worse than that...
...
We already did. Luca Toni! The only FBs worth the long haul in this window were Nagatomo as far as I'm concerned and Marotta let it slip, largely due to his inability to do anything without a bargaining chip like Inter had. Legro opted for Milan and Inter had Santon. Ziegler and Criscito were the other ones worth mentioning but I wouldn't be as happy with the former as I would be with the latter and we know how that story has already ended up. So how much of a difference this signing will make in the absence of other reinforcements is conjecture at the point, but let's just wait till we have the benefit of a little hindsight. Until then, interesting signing, a tad bit expensive, but when you consider it to be the most inflated time of the year, and contextualize it with our desperation, it hardly seems questionable.

I understand what you are saying, although if I think about it from an Udinese/Cagliari point of view; why would we loan you one of our important players if you aren't going to handsomely reimburse us for the period he is not with us? When the player goes back he has one year less on his contract so his price is reduced in value, yet hasn't contributed to the club who loaned him.
Of course. Excellent business from their point of view.

And I do understand the situation we are in, financially speaking. If we don't have money to buy players, then that's that. Nothing you can do about it.
But we (as the fans, as well as the club) need to understand that loaning players isn't a cheaper option in the long run.
And that's basically what I meant when I said that we're already spending (or committing to) money from our next budget: you either sign these loaned players outright (and pay a higher price) or look for others and "lose" everything you paid earlier.

Welcome back Cron. Good to see some objective pessimists around :D

As for JCk, he just enjoys repeating the same rehashed :blah: ad infinitum, and then accuses me of being repetitive and mundane. I did insult Marotta once, and admittedly made fun of him, but it was borne out of frustration, but as is always the case with JCk, he enjoys blowing things way out of proportion. So melodramatic and hypocritical.

Says the one who has predicted the same outcome of every match and the standings at least 343523454234 times the past 24 hours.

Once? only once you made fun of Marotta's eyes? If I really have time for the likes of you, I would dig at least 20 posts where you repeated the same attempt about his eyes.

Jog on kid, now go tell us how doomed we are because we haven't heard you say it before.

Do you enjoy retorting to anything and everything anyone says? Does it give your life meaning and purpose JCK? You must lead a rather pathetic existence, trying to dispel every pessimist that comes to this forum, or anyone that dares to disagree with your viewpoint. You'd make a great dictator.

Is it just my lack of knowledge about him or is he really one of the most atheltic strikers in serie A? From the goals he made against Juve, where I know him mainly from. I think most poachers in serie A aren't often that atheltic, Pazzini and Gilardino included. Atheletic, fast and has a high working rate? I think he's the type of poacher/striker that you can double up with another one of his own kind. Like Delneri often wants. Matri and Toni as our front strikers, I think we're going to see that more often, don't know how I feel about that though.

Yes, but even if we do have additional 30m eur to spend, those will go for the defense.
Uhh, I wouldn't be so sure about that. This has been the thinking for several years now and nothing has come of it. It appears that Marotta is looking for the cheap options in defense. His whole "investment" thesis revolves around what he considers a good deal at present time, and apparently he sees none in the fullback department, so splashing out a large sum of cash won't happen. I could see Giovinco traded for Zaccardo at the end of the season, or similar deals that don't involve a lot of expenditure.

Maybe we should bring in Lazzari too to help him, people get their LM, everyone is happy.
I'm not really sure what this smugness about the left-wing role is all about. Marchisio will get playing time whomever we bring in, so it's not a worry for him.

Let's not kid ourselves. Guys like Pepe, Aqui, Matri & Quag (maybe depending on how things will turn out) are here to stay. Which is fine by me, but it also means that you probably will not have a lot of budget left for other, pressing reinforcements.
Exactly. And folks don't seem to realize how those loan fees start to add up after a while. So to think we will only exercise our option on a player or two after paying their loan fee is a bit foolish.

I'm hoping we don't have to keep Pepe though. The others, OK, sure.

You're milking it now, Hustini.

This is why we might have €150m, but it'll be over 3-4 years at least. It's sometimes overlooked.
Most transfer fees are paid in installments.
No Aaron, the installment plan has only been around for the past couple of years. It was invented by the great Al Gore and such plans mean you actually pay less, so it's a great deal!

Matri's thread has already become a war zone and he hasn't even played yet...

Dzeko hasn't scored yet, has he? :snoop:

:edit: Only once...he is slumping...

Aquilani will stay for sure and I don't think we will keep both Matri and Quagliarella, one of them for sure and it will be the one that will cost less. Pepe can leave for all I care.

We paid 2.5 for matri and promised 15.5 more, Inter just paid 10 mil more than we did now to get smth indef better.
So i dont think that we actually lacked the funds neither youth leverage, (if we had the intention to get Pazzini and sell Giovinco, we should have thought that earlier and act accordingly) but negotiating/managerial skills and vision.

He constantly makes fun of Marotta's eye and thinks it is ok to make fun of how people look.
You never some tobother for similar comments on Moggi though...

Good to see that Jack has failed to cleanse the ''objective pessimists", as well!
