No we will bring just one great player and one overpayed and overhyped Italian player, like Bonucci and Matri,
a transfer that will serve to appeal the idiot Italian masses of the fans,we will fail to bring 80% of our priority targets and anyy decent wingers and then we will just blame the last year loan deals and claim that they are this actual year's dealings.
This is just an excuse waiting to happen...

One promising young promising Italian (or overrated/mediocre/whatever the current buzzword is) with potential and one established top player sounds great by me :)

Yeah, that the kind of a team we have become, not even Genoa, Napoli and Palermo would be pleased with such mediocrity...
If Pepe, Aqui, Matri & Quag will stay we'll need only 1-2 FBs and maybe LW.
So you are pleased with our current squad?
We need those FBs and LM/LW/LF long before Matri, Quaqand Aquilani were purchased, actually that would be the third time switching such players before addressing the FB and DP heir issue...

Feel like this is a good signing in the general scheme of things. We went from the likes of Dzeko, Cassano and Benzema to Gila, Maccarone and Floro Flores. And eventually ended up with Matri. Could've been better but also could've been a whole lot worse the way I see it and for that I am thankful.

As for the signing itself, I think its a good one, not just taking into consideration the circumstances. He may not be as established as a Fernando Torres but he is an exciting young talent whose made the leap in quality at the right time. Also, he's proven to have somewhat of a calibre having scored fairly consistently for a team of Cagliari's standing. That's saying a bit. Other than that, i actually see his value appreciate over the next few years, playing in tandem with the likes of the Quagmeister, Krasic, Aqua and the like. Needless to say though, I still hope he's not the signature signing for the forward line, coz I'd still love the Benz here, but on the whole, good signing.

Considering how Marotta speaks Pepe won't be staying.
Meh, considering how Marotta speaks, we wouldn't have signed another player.
Considering how Marotta speaks, we would have been going for younger/cheaper (wages) players.
...

You shouldn't just believe whatever he says. Hell, I'd say it's part of his job to be less than truthful at times.

But if Pepe does end up going back to Udinese, that would mean another 2,6million down the drain. For nothing, basically.

He's not really young but I know what you mean, like a lot of Italian strikers he arrives late after ping-ponging around in his earlier years, you try to hope that the one you sign can do a Luca Toni and peak over the next few years.

He's come here in his prime as a Striker.

His loan fee for this season? He is good player (subject to hating) after all, if he's worth €10m with a four year contract why not €2.6m for one?

Considering the names you mentioned and the fact that we will pay about 20+mil for a guy who merely gets to score 10 goals/season, i cant see how we could do any worse than that...
Even play a primavera and use that sum for FBs instead, would be a better option...

OMG and we are paying 15.5+2.5+Ariaudo= +20 freaking mil to get Matri who???
OMG how can Marotta be so idiot?? I never thought that possible...
You always thought he was an idiot, did you even forget what you said about him?

Has anyone ever told you how much of a buzz kill you can be?
I have on many occasions but he is nothing compared to Bianconero81, at least Cronios is polite, the other dolt focuses on making fun of how people look.

You are missing the big picture, think ahead!
Keep that in mind so you can come back one day and gloat that you knew it all along.

And what I'm missing?
Are you really ready for a two page essay?

Matri is younger and has cheaper wages than Amauri though. ;)
I was referring to Toni & Barzagli.

Because you will have paid 2,6m + his wages, but don't have anything to show for it come the end of the season.
And because if he leaves, you're back to square 1 and need yet another replacement. A replacement you might not be able to afford because you spent funds on Pepe, or better yet a replacement you could have gotten in the 1st place instead of Pepe.

I hope Pepe stays though. Useful player.

Yeah, for a club that has absolutely no ambition to ever win a title again, thats the most important thing, the only thing that actually matters in fact...

Not to mention that he also is Italian and will probably attract a dozen more Italian fans on the stadium and let these malefic owners milk just a bit more of the Juve jersey as it still holds any value...

I understand what you are saying, although if I think about it from an Udinese/Cagliari point of view; why would we loan you one of our important players if you aren't going to handsomely reimburse us for the period he is not with us? When the player goes back he has one year less on his contract so his price is reduced in value, yet hasn't contributed to the club who loaned him.
