I am trying to look at it positively. If we get rid of Quag for a good sum and get Gila on the cheap + reducing wage bill ,then i'm ok with it.But if we end up paying more than 5m ,i'll be really pissed.
We must also consider the player's angle. It seems that Quag wants to stop leeching off Juve and go play some football.

so we've effectively weakened ourselves more to Roma's gain for the sake of saving a million in wages?
Depends on the player too. They may have come in with a proposal that he finds acceptable and he decided to move on.

4th we are also strengthening Roma by selling them Quagliarella
Possibly.

Of course he is, I know that you don't rate Quagliarella at all but the fact remains that Gilardino is the epitome of cack forvet. It can't get any worse
If Quag wants out, and wants to move on, then i don't think we can find a better replacement on the last day of the mercato than Gila. He knows how to score goals, has played in pressure situations and he's a Juve fan to boot. No better 4th choice striker that I can think of, even though he's got nowhere close to Quag's x factor effect coming off the bench. But the least we can do for Quag, is let him leave if he so desires. It's only fair for all the service he's given us, if he gets adequate game time elsewhere in a world cup year. Plus I think he'd do great at Roma.

i actually miss Luca Toni now, that is not a lie
Gila isn't that bad bruv.

Look, it could be worse.. you could be buying Matri for 12m as a reserve striker.

He's a good finisher, good target player, experienced both in the league but also in CL and will be our 5th choice. He comes of a good season and just got a great start to this one which is a good sign. He has some useful skills that he does very well and we could use in certain game scenarios. Unlike Quag who after all of these years I still don't know what he's really good at. Maybe shooting from 50 meters but that a skill he can use somewhere else.

My only problem with this move (apart from being sad at Quag's departure) is that we have changed 3 out if a possible 5 forwards. That is a recipe for disaster IMO. Especially when we have a coach so anal about our system of play.

I will turn off the match once he steps in, I simply don't have enough buckets at home to fill with the puke I'll produce seeing that neanderthal wearing a Juve jersey and actually playing.

Gila will be 4th choice. Giovinco will be 5th choice unless we are playing 433. If Quag stays, I think he will be used more than Gio this year cos he proved to be way more effective anyway.

At the same time where our rivals are getting better
