BBC Sport is reporting Juventus are ‘leading the race’ to sign Aaron Ramsey but stresses the Arsenal midfielder has yet to make a final decision.

Sky Sports made it clear in no uncertain terms that Ramsey had agreed a five-year contract with Juve, but the BBC believes this is an exaggeration.

The broadcaster notes the Welshman’s ‘current preference’ is to join the Bianconeri but also that he will ‘continue to entertain proposals’, with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Inter interested.

It is also said the 28-year-old’s boyhood dream ‘was to play for Barcelona’, although ‘that option will not be pursued’.

Nonetheless, Ramsey’s desire to play as a No 8, ‘running on to the ball from an advanced central position’, would tie in with Max Allegri’s deployment of a three-man midfield.

Whatever happens, the BBC still expects him to see out the season with Arsenal before leaving on a free transfer this summer, when he will likely become ‘the best-paid British player of all time’ at his next club.

Release Sami and his huge wages next summer

I'd sell one of Pjanić or Matuidi too if a good offer comes

We need more than just good/solid and workmanlike midfielders

Our midfield needs to be reshaped
How can you see Pjanic as dispensable? I can't see many other players better in his role/s. Matuidi will always cop it for not being polished. But his influence on a match is always plain to see, freeing up his peers, winning the ball etc. As I see it, between those two you've got great balance. Yes, Pogba is that perfect, modern all-rounder mid. But Pjanic and Matuidi are greater than the sum of their parts, no?
