I wouldn't say Italians love Camoranesi at all. Perhaps we are biased here because we are Juve fans, but I don't see a lot of love for Camoranesi in an Italy shirt. When he won the World Cup he dedicated it to his friends back where he grew up in Argentina, it was a sporting decision by him just as it is for Amauri. But at least he had an Italian passport by heritage, Amauri would be getting his through residency which may be the laws of the country and FIFA but has never really sat right with me. I've argued this point before with England fans on the subject of Almunia, and he is not even very good, I don't agree with fans who would take any player they think would improve their national team. A national team is not like a club team, it should consist of players who understand what the country is about and fights for the shirt and the people of that country. Camoranesi to his credit said he fought for the colours of Italy even though he was Argentine, hopefully if Amauri does get the call he will understand the difference between pulling on the Verde e Amarelo and la Maglia Azzurra.
