Historocally it's a lot of nonsense. THe description of the parties invlolved is ridiculous and the lines are cheesy. It's shallow and not very deep.
Having said that it's certainly entertaining. It's no Gladiator though, that movie was actually quite good with developed characters and a great story. 300 it's a great popcorn flick with some beautiful shots but it is precisely this that makes it quite artifical (it can sometimes look like a cartoon/anime).
I would still recommend for a night out (just don't watch it with your gf, all the steroid-pumped chests will most probably make her slightly horny. er..which I guess could be good too
