That is a slippery slope

If Isla keeps going the way he has in the Copa (From what I have heard he has been doing well), there may be a tempting offer or two for him. Might have to strike while the iron is hot, because he seems to perform well everywhere EXCEPT Juve. Could be different under Allegri, who knows.

Juventus interested in Vrsaljko’
By Football Italia staff

Sassuolo sporting director Giovanni Carnevali confirms Juventus 'have an interest’ in Sime Vrsaljko.

The Croatian full-back was thought to be close to Napoli, but it emerged earlier today that the Bianconeri are also in the running.

“We’ll talk with Napoli in the next few days,” Carnevali told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“However, our intention is to keep the player for next season.

As for Juve, we have a great relationship [with them], which connects us through other players. They have an interest, but we have to evaluate the possible deal, there are also foreign clubs who want the player.”

Vrsaljko’s agent has talked up the possibility of a move to Napoli, and Carnevali admits that’s only natural.

“That seems logical, they’re a great club. But nothing is certain yet.”

Juventus challenge Napoli for Vrsaljko
By Football Italia staff

Juventus are set to challenge Napoli for the signature of Sassuolo full-back Sime Vrsaljko, according to reports.

The Croatian international was thought to be close to a move to the Partenopei, but Duvan Zapata’s likely move to Udinese has cast doubt on the deal, as the Neroverdi would have liked the striker in exchange.

Sassuolo are asking for €15m for Vrsaljko, and Gianluca Di Marzio’s website reports that this is because there is also an offer on the table from Juventus.

The Bianconeri enjoy a good relationship with the Emilian side, and would reportedly leave the 23-year-old at Mapei Stadium for a year on loan.

Napoli are still thought to be in the lead for the player’s signature, with Juventus not considering the full-back a priority but that situation could change if the Old Lady are able to sell Mauricio Isla.

The Chilean wing-back’s value has risen after an impressive Copa America, and Di Marzio believes that if Juve were able to get anything around €15m for him, their interest in Vrsaljko would increase.

You know, that's one of the benefits of having such great squad depth. We can buy a player and leave him on loan for another year. Napoli obviously can't which is why we can likely win this transfer.

Sometimes you have to take one for the team.

That is what I consider the Zaza signing. The first step between what is hopefully a long and fruitful relationship between us and Sassuolo.

Look, that club is not poor by any stretch. They are owned by billionaires. Which means that they can go out and get those 17, 18 year old kids who could be tipped for greatness, and let them develop for a couple of years. This obviously would benefit Juve a great deal if we are ever interested in said players.

We have a built in relationship, we are never in a hurry to take away one of their prized young players, and in the end that benefits everyone.

You must have missed his season with QPR?
