I haven't watched a minute of this competition so far. Sweden has not got a single medal and now Lars Frölander might quit because of an injury.

I don't think it'll happen, Thorpe is very strong. Isn't it funny that when you look at Thorpe it seems like he's swimming really slow, since he has soo long arms.

yeah, i've noticed that too, but after all vdh is the olympic winner as long as i understood from tv, this means he has chances in the future, after all he is younger than thorpe :p

Unfortunately yesterday I wasn't able to follow the races, because I was in cinema at that time, so the only Hungarian, that I know about from yesterday is Flaskay, who won a bronze medal in men's 50m breaststroke!:cheesy:

The final was great! And guess who won? The oldie, Popov :D :star: VDH was 2nd and Thorpe 3rd. Ian was only 8th when they turned around, but caught others in the last meters.

That was a GREAT final! Didn't expect Popov to make a come back like that (was he ever gone then? erm... :D). A shame VDH didn't win but I'll settle for this ;)

Did you watch today's finals btw? The 100m butterfly men semifinals were AMAZING! In the first semifinal, Andrii Serdinov, like, crushes the WR with an amazing time of 51.76 and five minutes later in the second semifinal, Michael Phelbs comes along and beats that with a 51.47 :dazed:

And then later in the 200m ind. medley Phelps swims another wr with 1.56.04!

This was one great night! And to think this kid Phelbs is only 18! Younger than me but if I ever meet him, I'm gonna fall on my knees :D

Note to self: Get Phelps' trunks to crush personal records!

and i discovered another little talent : that russian boy named arkady vyatchanin seems prmosing too :)

Yes he does indeed! I can't spell OR pronounce his name properly though :D

About VDH, he had some problems with injuries and everything so that explains his performances. Should be back to normal next event I hope!

And there's still Inge de Bruijn who will win a gold medal for NL tonight I'm sure! :strong:
