But don't you think that having the comfort of knowing you belong to that country makes you feel right at home. If you were Chinese for example, you would notice that your close friends are different, you wouldn't feel very comfortable. I know this from my personal experience. I spent my...

Brilliant, I would have no nationality at all then. If someone asked me where I was from I'd just reply, " I don't know yet, give me a few more years".

Like I said, the more dominant gene will decide. Balotelli is Ghanian, not Italian. Nationality doesn't decide that, where's the logical contradiction? I can be Lebanese but I may feel right at home in the United States where people treat each other better, there are more opportunities etc...

To clear up the confusion. Genetics decide where you are from, who you are, ethnicity, etc.. Tradition decides which last name you carry, which official passport you will own etc.. Martin asked me that if two parents with different nationalities had a kidm which nationality would that...

This is decided relatve to a person's country/tradition. I don't really believe it's true, a person can have two nationalities depending on where their parents are from.

What if on my 80th birthday. I spent 20 years in Ireland. 20 in France. 20 in Japan. 20 in Senegal. Where am I from? Or better yet. I spent 5 years in Egypt. 5 in Jordan. 5 in Kuwait. 5 in Spain. 5 in Honduras. 5 in Italy. 5 in Paraguay. 5 in...

They don't necessarily have to be divided that way. Some genes are dominant while others are recessive.

It's not a decision you make. You don't decide to have blue eyes or black skin. Your parents do, thus your parents are who decide where you are from. If I went and lived in Beijing for 40 years, guess what, I still wouldn't be chinese.

Typically, the custom breaks down in the 4th generation( I'll explain why in a second). Meaning that your great great grandchild would be Lebanese despite you being Polish. Why? Because presumably, your son would marry a Lebanese woman, and their son/daughter a Lebanese son/daughter and so...

You would be Polish, but the 5th generation would be Lebanese. Traditionally, the father decides the nationality. In countries like Brazil, it's actually the mother.

Maybe, we are discussing a different concept here. If you are discussing what decides a person's home, then yes you are right, genetics does not offer an explanation. But if you are discussing what decides a person's heritage, race, nationality, then genetics have everything to do with it.

When someone asks you where you are from, would you honestly give him a list of all the countries you feel at home with? All though it's a nice way of putting it, it's not exactly compatible with reality Martin. I feel at home in Abu Dhabi, I spent my childhood there but I'm Lebanese. My entire...

Villareal are a good team by European standard, certainly not one of the best teams. I think Rossi should be playing at a better club competing for first or second place instead of a team competing for a UEFA cup spot. I like Villareal, they are probably my favourite Spanish team but they aren't...
