[Champions League] Bayern München vs JUVENTUS (April 2, 2013)

his imminence acmilan hopes his imminence X can read said former imminence's posts for what they actually say and not for what said latter imminence assumes they do :D honestly, where have I said anything that contradicts any of text to the rule in question? The head of the forward - his most...

[Champions League] Bayern München vs JUVENTUS (April 2, 2013)

well, I reckon people, who tend to be impartial and fair in their viewpoint, would be so even without my valuable input in the serie A thread :P ... as for the rest, what I may have to say would go in one ear and out the other, so to speak, so hardly any point of that considering it's a rinse...

[Champions League] Bayern München vs JUVENTUS (April 2, 2013)

yeah, of course Mandzukic, not Muller - my bad :P I disagree, however, on the "definite" part in your statement. Even from that still shot Alexx 444 posted earlier here, one cannot say with certainty if the defender's trailing foot (part of the body) was in line or slightly behind the...

[Champions League] Bayern München vs JUVENTUS (April 2, 2013)

I watched the game so I commented on the situation when i saw that quite a few people were calling it a "clear" offside and some even implied Juve got shafted, which I didn't and don't agree with given how close the call was. Unlike quite a few people here, I don't make it the purpose of my life...

[Champions League] Bayern München vs JUVENTUS (April 2, 2013)

honestly man, what do you mean when you say the "defender"? Aren't his feet part of the body? 500 years ago everybody "confirmed" the Earth was center of the universe ;)

re-read what you yourself posted, if you can.

nothing in the above text makes this offside - again, those feet for the defender are part of his body.

[Champions League] Bayern München vs JUVENTUS (April 2, 2013)

you don't need someone else to say it - can see it for yourself in that pic Alex 444 posted above. Quite frankly I dn't see how anyone can say with certainty that the trailing foot wasn't in line with the forward's head ... we are talking +/- couple of centimeters here. again, the important...

[Champions League] Bayern München vs JUVENTUS (April 2, 2013)

yeah, but that's not all there is to the rule, iirc - regarding the defender, any part of his body counts with which he can defend/prevent a goal, which his feet obviously are and it's his trailing foot that seems very much in line with Mandzukic' head/body.

[Champions League] Bayern München vs JUVENTUS (April 2, 2013)

I was sure it was offiside in real time but after a replay or two, think it was too close to call and giving advantage to the attacking player, when not certain, is within the rules. in the above pic, one can see how Mandzukic's head - the most forward part of his body with which he can score...

[Champions League] Bayern München vs JUVENTUS (April 2, 2013)

true, the Arsenal game makes a scenario like this less likely but their domination today was so complete that I wouldn't put it beyond them. This time around they will field their best team but it's the mental readiness of the players that would make the biggest difference. An early goal by...

[Champions League] Bayern München vs JUVENTUS (April 2, 2013)

disappointing showing by Juve - Bayern is obviously a very good team but I think Juve made them look even better today. The whole team bar a player or two lacked composure and looked bewildered. Conte made his tactical adjustments way too late - i expected he would have learned his lesson from...

[Champions League] Bayern München vs JUVENTUS (April 2, 2013)

on paper, they do ... but they are mentally fragile and even worse, have a life-long tendency to bottle it against Italian teams. don't let a goal in too early, and I see Juve get a result out of this game. Score an away goal too and you are thru, imo.

[Champions League] Bayern München vs JUVENTUS (April 2, 2013)

:rab: If Bayern wins this game it would be by 1 goal diff result of taking advantage of a particular situation. They won't have many chances and this won't be a walk in the park for them. Bayern tends to be a rather "German" team in the Cl and they have an inferiority complex from Italian...
