Kostas Manolas - CB - Roma

Think I've only seen him play during the World Cup. Looked like he knew what he was doing, but 15m seems like a lot.

    The Financial Situation

For the sake of a couple of million a year, Juve may stick with FIAT. I can't imagine that FIAT would be Juve sponsor if there was another company out there prepared to offer a lot more.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I see it.

    The Financial Situation

Why should Juve get more than that? That's not to say Juve aren't a club of a stature to at least match someone like Liverpool, but it is impossible for the Juventus brand to be as marketable as the Liverpool brand right now because of the relative marketability of the leagues the clubs play in...

What Are You Doing Right Now?

Preparing to head out to watch Real Sociedad v Aberdeen. Starting to get fairly tense after feeling pretty good about the game through most of the week.

Non-Juve Transfer news (official or rumors)

Some people seem to have been confused about Mertens' role in the Fellaini transfer. He is being used to faciliatate the deal by, as a fellow Belgian, talking to Fellaini to convince him to join Napoli. There was never any suggestion Mertens would be involved in any given of swap deal.

Wishlist and General Juve mercato talk (2014-15)

I wouldn't read anything much into training methods at this stage of pre-season. I think there is very little difference between the systems and that Tevez would play in a very similar fashion in both of them. Haven't seen much of him. Just looked like a poacher with decent general ability...

Wishlist and General Juve mercato talk (2014-15)

Juve can't plan to consistently play any other shape with the squad they have just now.

Wishlist and General Juve mercato talk (2014-15)

The key thing was that they had Ibrahimovic. They didn't need a technical trequartista because they had Ibrahimovic. It was more important to have runners moving and Ibrahimovic to recieve his passes or to create space for him. Milan also played on the counter-attack a lot which, again, meant...

Likely to have any practical consequences? It's not like that have any great international standing to lose after their last default.

    [ITA] Serie A 2014/2015

Possible. Fiorentina would be the most obvious candidate for fourth since they spent so much of last season without Rossi and/or Gomez, so should be stronger. Still waiting to see how Inter shape up. Lazio will have the advantage of not playing in Europe, though.

    [ENG] Premier League 2014/2015

It's just that they happened to be winning at the point the EPL became the global thing that it is. Naturally people new to the league jumped on the team that was winning. Man Utd have handled it well, but a lot of it is just down to the luck of happening to be strong at the right time. If...

    [ITA] Serie A 2014/2015

Indeed. They are shaping up quite well just now and another central defender could see them looking strong - both in terms of starting XI and depth.

Wishlist and General Juve mercato talk (2014-15)

Can anyone dig up the quote in Italian when Allegri said Juve would sign a defender and a forward? I'd be interested to know if it was lost in translation and came out as striker/forward, when he may actually have said something which suggested a more general attacking player, which could...
