What Are You Doing Right Now?

Not sure it's one where are likely to lose many balls or anything. More likely to just be blocked out by trees if you get out of position.

Indeed. I'm reluctant to be overly critical of Brand on the basis that he does seem to be prepared to devote his time to some worthwhile causes. But I find it hard to believe there are many people out there who are daft enough to have waited to hear what he had to say before deciding who to...

    Gianluigi Buffon

Did you see his starting position? He was practically standing on the penalty spot before Kroos even took the freekick. He'd already decided it was his ball.

He did get booked for that.

    Stefano Sturaro

I don't think there's any chance of Pogba starting in Madrid. He may make the bench and be an option if Juve need a goal. Would be too big a risk to throw him in from the start.

Nice. Looks quite a narrow course. Not much room to spray it around off the tee. I know that you are hurt by me abandoning you, but there's no need to lash out like that.

[CL] Juventus 2-1 Real Madrid (May 5th, 2015)

English refs hate players waving an imaginary card at them, which Vidal did, for some reason. It's very odd because they won't book a player for walking up and asking if there shouldn't be a card given. Other than Vidal's, Juve's yellow cards were deserved. Issue was the inconsistency...

Juve should also be reassured that, while that was undoubtedly a good performance, it was nothing brilliant and they can do that again and better next week. They now must believe that they belong at this level and can get a positive result against anyone in one-off game.

[CL] Juventus 2-1 Real Madrid (May 5th, 2015)

Good performance from Juve and an interesting, intense game. Great tempo from Juve in the opening 20 mins where they really got after Real. Real tried to press, but did it badly so there was the opportunity for Juve to move the ball forward quickly relatively easily. Real also seemed...

English ref. Will he not just assume that all the foreigners are diving?

:boh: Apparently, but I haven't seen anything beyond the rumours folk have posted here.

Don't get me wrong: I'd have started with Pereyra. It was the small adjustment to the shape that I meant wasn't a big deal, rather than the untested combination of personnel. Already said missing Pereyra is unfortunate for the same reasons you mention.

[CL] Juventus 2-1 Real Madrid (May 5th, 2015)

Don't expect Juve to go committing very many men forward. Real are so dangerous on the break and 0-0 wouldn't be a bad result, so I don't envisage Juve being prepared to take many risks in order to try and score.

[CL] Juventus 2-1 Real Madrid (May 5th, 2015)

It's not exactly a huge change. It likely just involves the trequartista playing ten yards deeper, particularly without the ball. May well still be more 4-3-1-2 when in possession.

[CL] Juventus 2-1 Real Madrid (May 5th, 2015)

If it ends up being 4-4-2, it'll need to be a compact one that avoids getting dragged too wide. Pirlo can be exposed in three- or four-man midfields, nevermind when he is in a central-midfield two. If you play a relatively flat four, you are also likely to have to drop the whole midfield...

[CL] Juventus 2-1 Real Madrid (May 5th, 2015)

Not convinced. Think it'll still be a case of Juve sitting back a lot and picking moments to apply pressure. It'll just be that Juve'll be more effective at pressing on the occasions they decide to commit to it. :boh:

Not convinced it'll make much difference in that regard. Don't know that Juve will want to have much of the ball anyway.

Got to feel for the people of Genova. They have just recovered from the previous flooding and Vidal goes and decides to open the floodgates.

They can do the running without the ball to support the attack, but they can't run with the ball like Pereyra can.
