    Andrea Pirlo

The 4-3-2-1 would be a nice solution next year. If they played Pogba (or even Vidal) as the advanced mid, it would allow Marchisio to keep his place and solve that issue. Licht- Bonnuci - Chiellini - Asa Pogba - Pirlo - Marchisio Vidal - Jovetic Llorente

Agree. Though I think Cassano (if fit) is still the best option to play off Balotelli for the WC and one of SES/Cerci/Dia/Giac for the AM/Winger position.

Playing Montolivo together with Pirlo and DeRossi is why the midfield works well. Having 3 creative players makes it pointless man-marking Pirlo. As for Marchisio? Well the usual answer to just about every strange Italian selection is 'Workrate'. Our most talented players never work hard...

It's well known that he hates the 3-5-2, too defensive. It would create the same problem Juventus faced in Europe - a lack of ball players and ability to control possession. Sometimes it backfires but sometimes we beat Germany, who everybody said was a level above Italy.

Well he's trying something because there are problems with the other formations. 4-3-1-2 = No quality SS, and 4-3-3 = Weak midfield. This formation looks designed to get Balotelli more involved and play an Ibra role. Don't know if it will work though.

Wishlist and General Juve mercato talk (2013-14)

 I get that they're scared because of the fkups with Diego/Amauri/Melo but we have no choice. 'Sure things' are out of range so we need to take risks on someone likely to step up. And I can't see the attack improving much without a creative SS upgrade. Our team is dependent on whether...

What's 'inflated' in this case? We're spending ~30m on a SS and Insigne might be the closest thing to an Aguero (in the future). I know Napoli don't want to sell but who ever does? Also, don't Napoli have another SAmerican talent they want to develop in that role.

I don't know why they aren't making a play for Insigne. For the same $, they might get him and he's probably got more upside than Jojo or Tevez.

Yeah the article is a bit over the top. His workrate isn't bad, he just don't have great speed.

If the No.10 means nothing, why is Vidal (or probably his agent) asking for it?

    Arturo Vidal

This has to be a joke right? People say we're not in a strong position to say No, but c'mon. If he wen't to Madrid or Bayern, he wouldn't get the freedom of a 3 man mid to go forward and score goals. We're supposed to be a traditional club right. 10=Fantasista

El Sha's been poor for half a season. Either Insigne steps up next year or Prandelli will be forced to bring Cassano back. That was terrible up front.

They need a real CAM. Ozil always missing in big games. Even Diamanti would show him up !!!

Has Jovetic ever played a midfield role? Also there's nothing to say we need a Zidane in that position. Even Bayern have used guys like Muller and Kroos who definitely ain't traditional No. 10's.

4-3-1-2 if Pogba could be the CAM would be interesting... or even Vidal in that role.

Getting a real WB that can beat a defender and cross does upgrade the 'attack', especially with Llorente. I think 3-5-2 will always have problems without one.
