id criticize him for playing Pogba 1st on the right side, then as a DM after he realized the Pogba-Kante-Matuidi midfied doesent work. id also criticize him for starting a mediocre Giroud, in a 433 with a SS and AM as wingers, and leaving better players at home. Germany, Spain and Italy werent at their best, they played at home, and blew it. golden opportunity
I think both Germany and Italy were better teams. France has so many attacking players that I would probably consider playing Paul deeper. Giroud playing I don't get but every NT coach has their trusted players and rightfully so imo. Picking all the flavor of the month players hardly ever works. I like my NT coaches calm and collected.

I hope no one kills me for this, but I do think AC Milan's team on paper was better. Ancelotti focused more on the CL, being a cup manager however.
Also Pirlo > Vieira.
No, they just won CL, so they seem better. Replace Ancelotti and Capello and we have a different story.

Germany was a shell of their 2014 team. Schweinsteiger way past his prime, Khedira injured during the tournament, Lahm gone, Klose gone. even Hummels didnt play the SF. Griezmann was in monster form, Pogba was in monster form, he compromised them both to fit in Giroud, Payet and Matuidi. thats terrible coaching in my book, add to that the weak player selection, and hes a garbage NT coach for me

I disagree, but this discussion won't take us anywhere. So let's just enjoy him playing Giroud up top once again in Russia :D

How did Italy have a better team? France had players like Griezzman. Italy had players like Eder and Pelle.

Unfair to compare anyone to Zizou. Zizou is close to being a goat level coach. After Allegri of course.
true that

People might call Deschamps dumb but there are reasons why Benzema is not involved.

The Madrid striker won't be going to the World Cup this summer as his international exodus continues, with France coach Didier Deschamps having made him ineligible for selection over a blackmail case involving former teammate Mathieu Valbuena and a sex tape.
Then later Benzema insulted Deschamps in media for his euro snub. Dont forget he did play in 2014 WC under Deschamps. So its not like he never played under Deschamps.

Insulting Deschamps in media...it was curtains. He was never getting back.

Tbf this time going to this tournament France has a bettter team than 2016 with players like Mbappe having emerged.

No. Would still be inferior to Allegri.

:D Honestly. Of course it would but it wouldn't change his achievements with Madrid.
Just wonder why people don't say about Zizous achievements the same as what they used to say about Pep at Barca

Well I know why, but yeah

Jupp Heynkes says hi. Won 98 CL. Then coached teams like Tenerife and Monchengladbach before Bayern 11-13.

Okay... nothing to do with what I said tho :D

What if Zidane goes and manages some Tenerifes and Neverkusens for next 10 years was the similarity point.

Is Jupp highly regarded?

Nah. He won't come at all. He'll do a Pep and only go to the filthy rich teams where he can sign who he pleases
You forgret something. They hardly spent under Zidane. 90% team was same as 2014 when Carlo coached. Keeper changed and Zidane promoted younger players like Asensio and Vazguez.

Zidane even refused new signings last summer. They had exactly the same XI in last 2 finals.
