:agree:

You know what's the difference between the 2? Ronaldo learned to adapt, he realized how to be effective without the ball and utilitize his teammates to the max. He makes players around him better. Messi wants to have the ball all the time, when not he's just standing there watching. Problem is, Tevez, Aguero, di Maria, Dybala, Higuain etc also need the ball, but Messi won't adapt to anyone, he wants others to adapt to him. Ronaldo can play with anyone and be effective, Messi needs players that move without the ball
:agree:

Palacio over Tevez, Messi single handedly gave away the WC 2014.

Yup thats also why Sami is better than selfish fags like Pirlo, Pjanic, and Marchisio. Why be involved and create chances all game when you can just be a passenger for 90 mins.

Yep they were shit still doesnt change the fact that Ronaldo missed sitters vs both Austria and Iceland that would have got them through before the Hungary game. That team won the final without him, pretty sure they could beat Wales and Poland without him

Aka you realized you fucked up and those have no response :baus:

If you actually watched the games (obvious you dont) you could tell that Argentina arent making it out that group without him. Couldnt even beat IRAN without a 90th screamer.

:andyandbarcelona:  didnt realize Poland, Hungary, Iceland, Croatia, and Wales were "strong competition" Or did CRFag score vs France like he did against Croatia - - - Updated - - -

Yup with a Bayern coached by LVG in the Bundesloliga  Still nowehere near as good as Suarez for Pool or Barca for that matter.
I'm not the one saying GOAT had an all time great tournament, so him missing chances isn't relevant really. You just want to talk about whatever comes to your mind, without thinking if it's relevant or not, but those chances are meaningless in the end anyway, cuz Ronaldo stepped up vs Hungary with them facing elimination and getting them past. So again, the point here is that Ronaldo did more than Messi for a weaker team against stronger competition, compared to Messi who failed with a stronger team against weaker competition. If you want to talk about Austria and Iceland games, you can go to the Euro 2016 thread and talk to someone.

Watch the goal against Croatia and think again, I'm not sure you'd understand anyway but atleast try.

My country kinda played in that same group, so I took a glace here and there actually. Argentina doesn't pass a group where 4 pts is enough to qualify without a Messi screamer vs Iran. OK

The only team in SA as good as Croatia in 2015 and 2016 were Chile, and Messi failed to beat them. There goes that argument.

You can spin it however you want, Misimovic won the BL with VW, had 26 assists, despite the fact that they were 10th in January. Suarez didn't even win EPL, but sure, no one ever carried a team like he did that year

If they had Tevez instead of Messi, they would have beaten Germany. Tevez, Aguero, di Maria attack, Higgy off the bench. Mascherano in midfield. Just too good

CR7 is so shit with the ball and outside of the box

He's entirely reliant on his team to feed him chances

Great goalscorer but he has nothing on the likes of Zidane and Messi when it comes to being a player to make something happen for the team

4 of his balon d'or came from being a poacher

He can't get the ball and make the plays happen or improve his team mates because he needs them to work for him

As soon as the service dries up and Madrid have their backs against the wall he's not able to contribute anything to the game

His game has regressed since he started to prioritise goal scoring and playing further up the pitch

This is the current Balon d'or holder ladies and gentlemen

Ronaldo is the all time CL leader in assists and all time CL knock outs leader in assists. I guess all of them were inside the box then

Pretty much, he's a box player mostly 1-2 touches is all he takes

Thing is you can make compilations like that about every single player that has ever walked onto the pitch.
That's true but his ability on the ball has regressed so much he has been like this for a couple of years now

If a player is being compared to Messi and can't control a ball something is wrong with football

He's entirely useless if he has to break down defences with the ball

But somehow, has more assists than all those creative players ever. True genius, you can see why he's the GOAT

Well when all you're touches come in the box it's going to be easy to rack up assists

If you look at his goals and assists compared to Messi there is no comparison

Messi last season scored the same amount of goals as Ronaldo playing as a CM a whole 30-40 yards deeper than Ronaldo plays

He was the deepest player for Barca outside of the defence constantly picking the ball up to bring it forward

If you watch both players play there is no possible way you can come away thinking Ronaldo is close to Messi

- - - Updated - - -

You can throw all the stats at me in the world to tell me why Ronaldo is so good but having watched him and Messi I don't think there should even be a debate about it

Messi's game is so far ahead of Ronaldo's I personally think Ronaldo is over rated as a player not as a goalscorer he is not but as an overall player he is average

The only thing he has impressed me by is his heading ability he is the best player in the air I have ever seen

Of course, if you look at nothing but numbers, Ronaldo is somewhat comparable to Messi.

Now actually watch them play.

Look at Ronaldo’s “assists” at 2, 5, 6, 9, and 11  half of them aren’t even assists, they are misplaced passes or crosses that just happen to count as assists.

There is literally no comparison between Messi’s assists and Ronaldo’s assists. There’s no comparison between their footballing abilities period.

End of the days the best players are the ones that win you the most points and trophies end of.
There are players that makes you dominate a game against top clubs, those are the most dependable player

I'd rather them than those that play hide and seek only to score against the Beneventos and Eibar of the world
