I know you love the guy. Just a harmless dig though.
Someone like him, who at times represented the best of Italian Football, and carried on the long lineage of World Class defenders that Italy at one time produced. To be at one club during an amazing 23 year career, to handle yourself with class and grace like that, is a model of what is and what can be right with football.

It still angers me the way the Milan fans treated him at his last match. they should have put rose petals out for him to walk on, for the love of God. But no, they boo him.

Disgraceful. Absolutely disgraceful. They would have never done that to him at Juve.

Never.

That's because Milan fans are similar to Inter fans. I myself had tears and was applauding him from my place when he played his last match(though I couldn't watch it all because Pavel retired at that time too).

^ I made some modifications. The statement that you wrote describes how I feel about the senators in our team. Buffon, DP, Trez, Camo.. fewer and fewer of them now. A link to our past.

Well, fans are fickle as feck, as you well know. I don't even remember what their beef was with him.

I had 2 TV's going on in 2 different rooms with each match on.

My wife kept asking me why I was going back and forth between both of them.

And my answer was "Not right now. Not right now! I'm at a delicate moment of my day here"

Because Maldini urged the fans(Ultras) few months before his retirement to either stick with the team or not to attend the matches something like this.

In his retirement day, they had a big banner saying there's only one captain below it number 6(referring to Baresi). They ruined it completely, not even a standing ovation nothing.

Maldini is a class-act, Milan fans are a bunch of ungrateful metro-boys, Kaká did right to leave and Pato will do right to leave also. They don't deserve loyalty.

I know what happened, it was disgusting, but the reason shouldn't be that simple, you have the full story of it? some article?

It wasn't that simple, i can't show you any articles since i don't remember exact reason, but the reason was that Maldini some how went into conflict with some group of fans some years back for something they have done, if i rembere correctly he didn't aprove of their actions and they haven't forgoten or forgiven him so they did that at his retirament.
