Zeitgeist, the Movie (3 Viewers)

People can bitch and moan all they want, but someone said Jesus was born on the 25th of December for a very particular reason and everyone knows why. It's the same reason why the 25th (or the 23d or the 22nd or the 27th) of December has always been a significant day in various pagan rituals. There's nothing special about christianity.
I heard all this on an ancient history class about the Epic of Gilgamesh, back in 1998. Back then i was like WTF!!!
I couldn't stop thinking for days about what the young professor told us.
He started with a comparison between Noah and Utnapishtim and then he told us the same thing the guys from Zeitgeist tell about Jesus and Christianity.
The thing is that every historian who specialized in ancient history will confirm that what they say is true. Every medievalist will confirm it's true. The astrologists will probably confirm it also. Everyone who studied the history of religion will completely agree with what they say.
Everything is crystal clear actually.

Interesting solution proposed in Addendum to pretty much all word problems: a resource based economy through technology. It depends on whether they are correct in saying humans are not inherently greedy, which I'm not too sure about.

Ok, I have also briefly had been in a history seminar about the repetetive stories throughout the ages, starting from Gilgamesh til now, and how religions throughout the times just copied variations of these themes and made them their own, so the concept itself isnt suprising for me...but HOLY FUCK that first link, it cant be for real! (are we the human race that transparent??) The professors never put it as on point as the clip from this movie did, and clarified further as eloquently.

The professors never put it as on point as the clip from this movie did, and clarified further as eloquently.What I don't understand though is how some people see Zeitgeist and are surprised. Sure, it does a good job on explaining a couple of theories, but really, if you are capable to think for yourself you reach the same conclusions. You'd have to be an utter idiot to think Jesus was real and not merely a symbol.
Absolutely. It provides the answer to the problems we face. That is, if greed truly is not an inherent human trait.
They are just victims of the system. More people should have come to these conclusions on their own, but the system does do brilliantly to stifle them. That's why people should be allowed to think freely, not toss around terminology such as "conspiracy theory," and not become too offended when proven wrong. That's one of the messages these films put out, so everyone should watch it no matter what they believe.
I suppose the only hope that we do have is that considering times are so troublesome, people will let their "faith" in what we know as the current state of the world subside. Something bad is dying and hopefully something good will come out of it. We need to be re-born.

Didnt think Jesus as the son of God was more then a symbol, not a christian so the questioning the validity of Jesus as the son of God is not farfetched at all for me. But the SOURCE of this all with the religion part, not just about Jesus, but astrology and how distinctively repetetive the story elements have been throughout the history of mankind, even for someone who has heard of this before as I said, is still quite extremely astounding in how they break it down.
Not really suprised about Jesus being real, but the extreme significance of astrology. I havent seen any other part of this documentary, but in history aspect, I hope the other parts are as interesting as the religion part.
