he is the only real replacement for trez. if we sell zala, and rely on bojinov, palladino and del piero to be the strikeforce when trez is injured or missing, then we'll be in trouble cuz it changes our whole style of play when moving forward.

Unless we have a decent enough striker in our youth system to make the extra step if need be, then zala is there to stay.

our forwards are set...we shouldnt be lookig at changes them at all.

zalayeta is a useful backup,

do u remember his goals in the OT's against barca and real madrid??

indeed.... the other point is... we can't earn much by selling him...

then why not keep him~?
As it said before; We owe it to him! If he will leave let him leave, and yes we owe it to him, cause as you says, his decisive goals against Madrid, Barca and other. On the other hand, if he will stay let him stay:agree:

Zalayeta is not a superstar but he is good as backup. he never complains if he has to sit on the bench and we would not get much money for him. we should keep him.

but we have to see his PoV as well...maybe if he was given a regular starting position he might have become as good as trez or vieri...for us all he does is replace trez and play in coppa italia

i think he has the potential to become a very skilled starting striker, all he needs is an opportunity at the right club or even here when trez and ale need a rest for a match or 2. i agree that right now we won't get much for him in terms of cash but with a few handfuls of starts and a couple of goals then maybe we can get some value out of him through a loan or transfer, but as for now he is an astounding sub.
