I don't know. For me it's either Ed Norton or Russel Crowe
Russel Crowe is the fuckin man

    aww

Guys, once again, it's not about who you subjectively think is the greatest actor, it's who's your favorite.

And those who mentioned more than 2 names: Grow some fuckin balls ffs :D no one likes hesitaters...

For me, its Daniel Day Lewis, and then everyone else
Fuck that's a good call. In the Name of The Father is definitely a top 10 flick for me... I can't remember a single film where I didn't thoroughly appreciate Daniel Day Lewis' performance.

Another actor (who hasn't been mentioned) that I've got a soft spot for is Marlon Brando... he did quite a few right shit movies (and obviously some really great ones as well)... too bad the man's personal life was so fucked up...

I'm a little surprised nobody has said Clint, yet... (i think)

Sorry, but I can't actually name a favorite actor...

I don't get why people like Ed Norton. I don't find him very versatile. Even though he's played a number of very different roles, he doesn't really change much.
In American History X he doesn't convince me as a tough neo Nazi at all. I do like that movie though.

I kinda agree. He's a brilliant actior, but he lacks the edge you need to play a total badass. He's perfect for roles which require slight comic/sarcastic effects. But a total psycho type role..im not too sure.

It's a great performance, but there was something missing there. You know, you see Pacino in Scarface..you dont see anything missing.De Niro nailed Raging Bull,Bale nailed American Psycho,Brando nailed Godfather,Depp nailed Jack Sparrow etc..but there was something missing in Norton in American History X.

Before everyone treats me like Zlatan and Norton like Del Piero..im not underating him as an actor. He's fantastic, but he doesnt seem to have the natural charisma to nail really powerful psychotic performances IMO.More than American History X,i think he nailed Fight Club..or even The Illusionist.
