Tough one. I think I have to plump for Harrison Ford, the greatest 'heroic' actor of the last few decades. Han Solo, Indiana Jones, Rick Deckard, Jack Ryan, DR Richard Kimble, President Marshall - he's made some very memorable characters his own. I've also enjoyed him in some of his less famous roles, like in The Mosquito Coast. He won an Oscar for Witness.
